Being an ex cult member in fandom spaces is so hard because people really do not understand cults at all
They view it as 'group that's super obsessed with something' and thus make jokes like "welcome to the [fandom] cult" and "[character] cult" jokes
And i cant say anything, especially in public spaces cause they'll either ignore me, don't understand/care, or worse, ask me why or do it deliberately to make me uncomfortable
And i know that most people who do this are ignorant rather than malicious. Many of the people who make these jokes are young and only know of cults through the 'satanic ritual cult' trope we see often in media
But it still makes me want to throw up. That something that ruined my life and many others is seen as a joke. And jealous that they've never had to experience a cult in real life

When I made this post just ten days ago, it was about mass graves discovered at Al Shifa hospital and now we have learned that the same had happened at Nasser hospital in Gaza. The same genocidal pattern: a hospital is put under siege, patients and medical staff are abducted, tortured and buried in mass graves.
But to build on the last point I wanted to bring attention to in the previous post, it is very crucial to also keep in mind is that the Palestinian Civil Defence have reported that Israel had deliberately concealed the identities of those it killed and buried in these mass graves. Close to 400 bodies have been buried in these mass graves, 58% of the recovered bodies have not been identified.
In a press conference, a spokesperson of the civil defence in Gaza said that Israel had intentionally disfigured the bodies postmortem in order to remove any identifying markers such as birthmarks. He also mentioned that they suspect that the bodies have been placed in body bags that expedited the decomposition process, destroying any possibility of them being identified.
One of the main and only ways families have been able to identify the bodies of their loved ones is through the clothes they remember them wearing the last time they saw them. I saw a video of a mother identifying her son by his striped jacket. You can see the grief mixed with relief that she will be able to give her son proper burial.
Remember when months ago I said that to be identified and buried in Gaza has become a luxury? This is very much still the case.

Hardly a secret. People at the BBC are told never to use the words Palestine and Genocide and Ethnic Cleansing and other terms. That has been known for a while.

The Lemkin Institute for Genocide has issued a genocide alert for the West Bank
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Lemkin Institute is horrified by the dire situation transpiring in the West Bank. During what has already been a devastating six months of conflict in Gaza, the Israeli military and far-right settlers have used the cover of war to conduct continuous attacks on Palestinians in the West Bank, often leading to death and forced displacement. These attacks have been underreported in the mainstream Western press, which has also failed to tie Israel Defense Force (IDF) and settler violence in the West Bank and East Jerusalem to the genocide being committed in Gaza. These processes are all part of an overwhelming push on the part of Israeli authorities to oust Palestinians from their remaining ancestral lands. In other words, Israel is committing genocide against Palestinians across Palestine.

On Eid, Israel had bombed several areas including a school, a mosque, a marketplace, and a refugee camp, bringing the total of Palestinians killed in the last 24 hours to 63, with many more still missing because their bodies were torn apart beyond recognition by Israeli bombs.
Keep talking about Gaza, keep agitating, and keep advocating because this is Zionism and this is Israel.

April 3, 2024. Journalist Zuher Dahlan was passing out candy and saw a little girl start crying. He asked her why she was crying and found out that he resembles her father, who has been missing since they left the north of Gaza.

Knowing that the Red Crescent staff shared their coordinates with Israeli forces when they embarked on their rescue mission in January to save 6 year old Hind who was trapped in a car with dead family members, and knowing Israeli forces struck the ambulance when it was meters away from where Hind was, killing everyone.
We just cannot be totally shocked now to learn that the WCK also shared their coordinates with the Israeli forces and they too had not one, not two, but three of their marked vehicles targeted separately killing 7 of their staff.
It's all part of the same plan with the same agenda on a genocidal loop. It's systemic evil and literally predictable at this point.
It needs to be stopped and calls for ceasefire just won't cut it now. These calls need to be elevated to hold Israel accountable for the crimes it has been literally broadcasting.

january - march 2024 reading
books in bold are especially recommended!
Gentle Chaos: Poems, Tales, and Magic by Tyler Gaca - 4.5/5. i’ve followed Tyler (ghosthoney on TikTok) for years now, and this book beautifully captures the strange, magical energy of his videos. i love his mind and creativity!
The Ethnic Cleansing of Palestine by Ilan Pappe - 4/5. this is an excellent introduction to the Nakba and how Israel oppresses and kills Palestinians. the writing can sometimes be a bit academically dense, and the material is overwhelming (emotionally/horrifically and because of the sheer amount of it that he provides). my one major concern is the use of the term "ethnic cleansing" rather than genocide
The Girls by John Bowen - 4/5. simple, macabre, delightful. lesbians in a little english village and there’s murder.
The Spirit Bares Its Teeth by Andrew Joseph White - 5/5. stunning. showstopping. bloody ghost story with a lovely T4T romance. i can’t put into words how much i loved this. i finished it in a day because i couldn’t bear to put it down for very long.
Bored Gay Werewolf by Tony Santorella - 4/5. this was just fun. also, love anything that shits on toxic masculinity. seemed like it was setting up for a sequel and i’m really hoping there is one!
Hell House by Richard Matheson - 2/5. a friend recommended this to me, but i wish i’d read some reviews first. holy men-writing-women. “horny house,” as i’ve seen some people call it, is apt. the plot is driven by rape, the fear and “horror” of lesbianism, and constant hypersexualization. it’s gross, honestly. this book had a strong start but fell apart about a third of the way in.
Unmasking Autism by Devon Price - 5/5. i’m currently investigating whether i’m autistic. whether or not i am, this book helped expand my understanding of autism and what a better, more accepting society might look like.

Wanted to bring attention to the fact that Bisan called for mass protests today (April 1st). It’s okay if you can’t march yourself, but please make it a point to spread this so that those who can march do so—and also take this as your own checkpoint to ask yourself if you’ve been faltering in terms of sharing information about Palestine, doing what you can to fund humanitarian aid in Palestine, and staying informed as to the ongoing genocide in Palestine. Some might say it has been 6 months of this, but to me that’s all the more reason to make noise now more than ever. This is one of very few spaces on the Internet where Palestine has not been abandoned in people’s endless efforts to dehumanize Arabs. Please continue amplifying the dialogue surrounding this genocide. Free Palestine. Free Palestins always.
