Controls dissapear when embedded within LinkButton
I racked my brain on this one for a good hour before figuring out what was wrong with it. For some reason, the page (on postback) would remove anything and everything from within my LinkButton control, albeit a standard asp.net control, a custom control or even a piece of text! The problem was that I had embedded an item within the LinkButton tags which didn't have a runat="server" property attached to it... and when I say I embedded an item, I mean one of our designers. He'd placed a <span> tag around an image control (all within the LinkButton control) which was throwing out all of the controls embedded contents on postback. Very frustrating, but easily cured once a solution was found!

Android App Sale
I'm a cheapskate at the best of times, but when Android annouced that they were having a sale at their app store to celebrate 10 billion app store downloads with premium apps from £0.10p, I couldn't resist... so, over the last 12 days (of Christmas?) I managed to pick up the following apps ranging from 10p to 13p... absolute bargain!
Apparatus
Beautiful Widgets
Doodle Jump
Flick Golf
Flight Control
Minecraft PE
Paper Camera
Puffle Launch
Reckless Getaway
Sketch Book Mobile
Sentinel3
Spirit
Where's My Water
All that's left to do now is find time to play them all... which ain't happening any time soon...

Drop Down Menus, in IE7, within an iframe?
For some bizarre reason, IE7 doesn't seem to like drop down menus on forms within an iframe? I've read of an instance where this type of implementation did work, but only when the iframe is hosted on the same server/domain as the parent window. I don't understand why, but all I can assume is that it must be deemed as some sort of security risk... Anyway, a workaround would be to visit the URL source of the iframe directly, or even better, switch to a browser that works as expected!

Nexus S Flex
I decided to abandon the Blackberry clan, at the risk of missing actual buttons and have ventured down the route of touch screens once again. All of this after vowing never to touch a touch screen handset (no pun intended) again after my LG Viewty episode.
Anyhow, so far so good. Getting used to the Nexus OS's fancy'ness and slowly but surely becoming a huge fan of the Android OS.
Stay tuned for more of the good and the bad for the next 2 years... before on can upgrade for free!

Clients
Man, I'm so glad I don't have to deal with clients directly. It's not that I don't like people, it just the whole 'bending over backwards' thing that's comes as expected. Especially when things aren't going to plan and eveything seems to be going pear shapped! I just hope that there is light at the end of the tunnel - for the company's sake. It would be a damn shame to loose them as a customer after everything the people here at work have done for them...

Photo Processing Lab - BSOD
I went to get some photo's developed the other, I stood in front of the machine after plugging in my USB stick and slowly trawled through and selected which pictures I wanted to print. Unbeknown to me, I hadn't realised that the 'daddy' computer behind this dumb terminal wasn't up for doing any work that day... 45 minutes possibly wasted if it didn't manage to send off my images before the blue screen of death occurred...
