“*st’rs d’mmit...” it’s a low murmur that can first give away his presence.

then a few more grumbling sounds, and some bipping, slow and regular.

then maybe, for the knowing soul, the scritchscratch noise of code moving around.

and for sure, bent over two different open windows of code, one blue grey the other a dirty maroon red, hidden in the cold of a pine forest, away from inhabitants, there sit a small sweaty monster skeleton, hands jittery and going back and forth between the two interfaces.

“*fuck fuck fuck damnit-” they hiss a breath, clearly frustrated.

he had been delighted to discover this universe had such a complex, well labeled code -it seems to be edited in some parts, even, but ones about some things he definitely won’t touch- but now he also experiences the backside of that find. it is above his usual capacities to understand that intricate system. he’ll make do with the usual snipping around he does, but still. she is bummed. that would have been such a great base code to replicate.

needless to say, so engrossed in their labor, they are completely oblivious to their surroundings by now.
