Sims 3 Beginner’s Modding Tutorial

I haven't posted here in a while. My energy drains faster these days, especially on weekdays when I just want to curl up and watch K-dramas after work. On weekends, I recharge by sleeping the whole day and trying to go out or organize my CC folders, but then Monday comes too fast and it's back to work again. 😪

Having gaps in my ceilings has always made me irrationally angry. I go to take a screenshot and there’s an unintentional skylight. For the longest time I thought there was no way to fix it because the tips online about leveling the terrain or placing columns never worked for me. But alas, I have figured out a solution, so I figured it might be useful to others! 

So here’s how I got my grid tiles back:

Step 1: Build a wall along any side of where you want your floor tile to be. You may have to remove some or all of the roofing to see properly, it just depends where the holes are.  Step 2: The grid has reappeared! First fill in the space with your flooring. Step 3: Then use the sledgehammer tool to destroy the walls you made. If you try to delete the wall before placing the floor, the grid will disappear again! Step 4: Replace any roofs and enjoy your complete ceilings!

Checking Polycount for Sims 3 package files in s3pe

First - You need s3pe (get it here). Also, grab the wrappers. 

*pro tip that took me forever to figure out* Use 7-zip to open and install everything. If you use winrar it will corrupt a key install file and make the model viewer not work. Causing you to pull your hair out in frustration. 

Open s3pe - Click File - Open or Ctrl+O

Select the package file - Click Open

In the Tag column look for MODL and click(highlight) the line.

Right click and select MODL Preview and a new box should pop up.

On the left it will give you the Vertices and Polygons for the mesh.

You can also do this with TSRW. @simlicious has the instructions posted here for CAS items but it’s the same for any object. Look for the mesh tab and select your highest detail mesh.

Yes, I would always go for 2-4 sims only. I have enough characters to keep things interesting but not so many that it becomes overwhelming, its a sweet spot for balance and manageable chaos.

My fourth one is always a family pet. I can't adopt a dog in real life at the moment so I always have a virtual dog in the game and I can't play with cats because I tend to feel guilty playing with one when I have a real one beside me. 😅

I was busy last week due to work commitments and played TS3 for a while to decompress. I caught this during gameplay that I couldn't resist posting and making a script based on their speech bubbles. This is really not a normal storytelling; it was already hard editing the screenshots and thinking of a decent script, and all I could come up with was this, lol. a little help

So guys, I really didn't want to talk about this, but recently I was talking about how my state has suffered a lot due to the rains and how I had to send my PC for maintenance and also the internet connection in my house broke down and it's going need to be changed. To begin with, I live in Rio Grande do Sul in Brazil, our state has suffered a catastrophe where the ENTIRE state suffered from floods, people without homes, people and animals who lost their lives, it's horrible. There has been no water in my city for 1 week (I'm supposed to go back this week, but the place where our water treatment is located is flooding again), this part of my city that is flooding is where my father's and my sister's workplace are, and also where I work, my work is remote, I don't know when I'll be able to go back to work, I didn't want to ask, but the bills won't stop and I don't know if I'll have money to help my parents, who are also in limit, if you have the opportunity to help me with even 1 cent I would really appreciate it, luckily I had some money saved from my birthday which is exactly what will be used to maintain my computer, when it arrives I will continue posting content for you, I have a lot of projects to post, I post because I like it and it's something that has brought me a lot of comfort in this difficult time, having your support is also incredible, I have a big project for the 1000 followers that I'm almost reaching. My main Sims game will always be TS3 and for my go-to comfort game, I always go back to the classics, especially Suikoden II. I still have the original and my PS1 still works perfectly but I use emulators nowadays because it's easier.
