Between August and September of 1951 the people of Lubbock Texas witnessed odd lights in the sky. The first sighting was on August 25th, from 3 professors from the Texas Technical College. The men were sitting in a yard and witnessed 20 to 30 lights in the sky. The lights were a blueish green color and about the size of dinner plates according to one professor. The lights moved in a u formation across the sky. Due to their academic backgrounds they ruled out meteors and comets. The men reported the objects moved at a fast speed and gave them a feeling of unease. On August 30th, a man who attended the same college the professors taught at saw the lights as well. Carl Hart Jr saw the lights and went into his parent’s yard. There he took multiple photos of the lights. The photos were developed and taken to the local paper. The newspaper’s editor said he’d publish the photos but would run Heart out of town if they were fake. The photos were eventually reprinted in many different newspapers and eventually ended up in Life Magazine. Edward J. Ruppelt, a US Air Force officer and supervisor for Project Bluebook examined the photos and determined that the photos were not a hoax, but also said that they were not genuine as well. The professors said that the photos depicted the objects flying in a v shape instead of the u shape they had all witnessed. Project Bluebook’s official explanation was that the citizens of Lubbock saw traffic lights reflected off the feathers of migrating birds. However, the game warden at Texas Tech said that what the professors had seen couldn’t possibly have been birds. Other residents said they saw a large silent bomber jet fly over as well around the time of the incidents. Ruppelt acknowledged that the air force had a plane, and that could have contributed to the sightings, however he could not account for why it would make no noise when flying. According to Ruppelt, "Officially all of the sightings, except the UFO that was picked up on radar, are unknowns.". It is unknown what exactly happened that summer, but the incident has fascinated ufo enthusiasts for years.
*** I haven’t done a ufo post (or any post) in a bit. I’m still rusty on writing the event and stuff I guess.

Aurora model kits- 1973
I had ALL of these in 1973!
Now I have Dracula, King Kong, the Wolfman, Godzilla, Frankenstein, the Mummy, Dracula's Dragster, Alfred E. Nueman, a Flying Saucer, Rodan, and Ghidorah! I had the Creature from the Black Lagoon, but a buddy of mine was real drunk and feel into my shelf, and it fell-smashed to pieces.
