The secret alleies
Greeting all Silpakorn and Thammasat collegian cat lovers! Have you been bored lately? Whether from coming to college or with the work that the teacher has continuously assigned us with. Are they afraid that we would not have anything to do? However, recently I stumbled upon a secret place, a street alley near our university. These secret alleys are on the opposite side of the university. And it’s full of cats. If you are a cat lover, you shouldn't miss it!

The time I suggest if you want to see the kitty is around 8 o’clock because the shops are not open yet and the area isn’t crowded at this time. It is mostly crowded from 10 a.m. until then, it is the perfect time for us to come meet the cat. We will start from the Silpakorn University side. The first place is Tha Maharaj Pier. It is across from Silpakorn University. If you start from the university, you can walk across then walk along the wall until you find a big white sign that says “Tha Maharaj” you can walk in there and explore the area.

Cats in the morning often like to sleep in secret places. But if we visit the right day, we may also meet with cow-cats and orange cats. Most of the time, if the cats weren't sleeping, they would sit at Tha Maharaj directly before the crashier. The cow pattern is a cat that doesn't meow much but it is kind to let you scratch it. But if not at the point of payment, maybe she is sitting in front of a beverage shop, maybe the cat is lonely and wants to be with someone. You will rarely see the orange kitty. I've never seen it in the morning before, most of the time, she would come out in the afternoon and the evening. But this cat has a rather fierce temperament. It is scared of people and won't let you touch it, if you try to, she would immediately threaten to approach and try to applaud us.

The next alley is where most of the shops sell amulets. If you are cat lovers who like the Buddha statue and are Buddhist, then you would fall in love with this alley. There are various Buddha in many eras, from Lanna to the Sukhothai period. Let's go back to the cats. This alley can be called the alley of ‘family gatherings’.

And when you step inside, you'll find the locals there who are waiting to welcome guests. That's a sign that you've come to the right place. If you don't see the kitty, maybe you took the wrong turn. I've been here a few times and I always find this cat laying down or waiting for guests. It has a white fur with a bit of dirt all over it, but still fluffy. As you walk past the big fluffy cat, you may find the chaos within. Inside the alley, there are at least 10 cats in this alley, there are every type of cat you can imagine. Cow-Cat, Tiger Cat, Orange Cat, White Cat, White Orange Cat, most of the cats here will please you.

But the highlight of this alley, besides the one that greets us at the entrance, is if we walk far enough. On the corner was a fat tiger cat lying there with his arms folded inside his chest. When you look up, there are two more kitties. It likes to meow a lot. I don't know if it's because it's stuck on top of the store or not that makes them meow. But on the left, there is a small alley. (For people to walk and buy things) there will be three kitty brothers sitting. I would like to call them the Sam Saab which means chaotic cats because of their playful nature. Even if they let us touch them, they are always trying to scratch and bite us all the time, like a playful kitty. Especially the eldest (The one at the very front) will act as an impulse, but if you aren't aware, you will be its prey.

Although in this last alley it may seem that there are no cats. But in fact, the cats are hiding. Most of them tend to hide on top of the roof because they are afraid of humans unlike the previous alley. But there will always be a cat who is always friendly.
This black-and-orange tabby has a very affectionate nature that she will walk up to us and want us to scratch her. The point where she likes the most is her tail. As we kept scratching, the kitty would lie down and roll around. You have to see it yourself to know how cute she is. And after walking past all of the cat's alleys, there is a restaurant behind there as well. It is an a la carte restaurant by the river that will allow us to get the breeze in the morning, sit there, have breakfast and relax after playing with too many kitties.
And that's the end of our trip from the secret alley cats around Tha Phra. I hope you found some of this place interesting and have a fun time. Because I do have a lot of fun writing this blog and found the cat alley. If you couldn't tell, I am a big fan of the kiity, cats is my favourite animals. And I really like the alley I discover, if it isn't because of my couriosity I would miss a lot of good stuff inside. I do also like the Buddhist amulets and other Buddhist things. But that's enough for the auther muttering. See you in the next blog!
