Alois is such a complex character.

Some view him as a bratty aristrocrat who is nothing but a sensual sl*t. Someone who doesn't have the ability to contain his anger that even the littlest things could work him up.

When in reality, he's just a traumatized teenage boy who was s*xually a*sulted—being sensually intimate is his way to cope. Alois Trancy’s arrogance and anger stem from deep-seated trauma and vulnerability. As a child, he was kidnapped and suffered horrific abuse, leaving him emotionally shattered. His only source of love and comfort was his younger brother, Luca, whose death further deepened his pain. Desperate for affection but terrified of rejection, Alois masks his insecurities with cruelty and manipulation. He exerts control over others, believing that dominance will protect him from being hurt again. His arrogance is a defense mechanism, allowing him to appear strong while hiding his fear of abandonment. His desperation for Claude Faustus’s attention and eventual betrayal only worsens his instability, reinforcing his belief that love is fleeting and conditional. And His flirtatious and provocative actions are a mask for his loneliness, insecurity, and deep-seated fear of being abandoned again. These traits / signs makes him canonically have BPD.
