Phantom Royalty: Davis Gaines (1990-1996)
Davis Gaines is one of the first actors to have played both Raoul and the Phantom. Gaines rose in popularity after taking over the title role in the Los Angeles production before continuing on to the San Francisco and New York companies and 2nd National US Tour.
Gaines took Crawford’s sensuality and dialed it up to eleven to reach a melodramatic level that still seemed to work for the character. And pairing that with a voice that practically oozed vibrato, he soon earned a reputation by phans as a “sexy” Phantom.

I hope it's a semi-immersive staging like "Here Lies Love" and "Moulin Rouge"

Teaser trailer for a new musical adaptation of Gaston Leroux's novel, opening Oct. 22 in Paris. According to the website, Erik will be played by Bastien Jacquemart, who was meant to be Raoul in the ill-fated Parisian ALW production.

Note
I’ve been a big fan of your art for well over a decade now and this thought has recently crossed my mind
Are the character designs for your “generic” Phantom artwork like the Christmas/Valentine ones and the parody movie posters inspired by certain actors who have played those characters over the years or are they your own original design for the characters as in how you personally visualize The Phantom, Christine, Raoul, etcetera?
Thank you very much! While some phans have said in the past that my character designs remind them of certain actors, I did not base them on any in particular. They came about pretty organically due to the restrictions of the art style I chose and wanting to make sure each character was unique in silhouette, build, fundamental shapes, color palette, etc.

Most people don't know this, but before it was called "The Music of the Night", the song was originally titled "Puttin' On the Rizz."

Finally made a clip of the lady in the audience who said, "Isn't he sexy?" after Michael Crawford's "Music of the Night" in 1990. (x)

A particularly devastating clip of Michael Crawford, featuring not one but FOUR “I love you”s and his voice breaking. Los Angeles, 1990, with Mary D’Arcy and Reece Holland.
