bounding forward when she confirmed they weren’t online. “ i’m psychic but shh. ” putting her finger to her lips with a giant grin, “ can’t have everyone thinking that i’ll tell them the future. ” leaning her elbow against her desk so she could look manon in the eye while she spoke, “ well i kind of want to get curry but i’m always open to suggestions. ”

𝐮𝐧𝐟𝐚𝐳𝐞𝐝  ,  cassidy  wasn’t  too  worried  even  if  he  didn’t  know  the  way  back  and  it  was  completely  safe  to  say  they  were  lost  .  but  he  grew  up  in  new  york  ,  one  of  the  easiest  places  to  get  lost  and  turned  around  and  he  always  managed  to  find  his  way  .  maybe  after  a  little  bullshitting  but  once  he  got  serious  ,  he  was  pretty  good  at  directions  .     ❛     i  mean  ,  how  hard  could  it  be  ,  right  ?  don’t  worry  ,  it’s  supposed  to  be  fun!  an  adventure  .     ❜

wide eyed as she stared at him her mind spinning in three different directions before finally just accepting that this is where they were now. “ alright let’s do it. if it really goes to shit we’ll just call 999 to have someone come save us. ” glancing up at the sky shooting it a warning glare as if to say it’d better not rain. “ let’s go we’d better get moving before something happens, i have a weird feeling in my gut. ”

“ i haven’t attended mine in a couple of days , i faked sick so I could go and explore , don’t tell anyone, ” she chuckled. Nevaeh would quickly catch up, she was sure of it.  “ I’ve always wanted to go to one , I’m an animal lover . Cute animals or scary animals are fine by me , maybe a snake cafe would be a bit too much for everyone else,”.

an impish grin on her face, “ i’m going to tell everyone. ” she teased sarcastically. “ it’s all apart of my evil scheme to take over as dean of the program. ” a shiver ran down her spine at the thought of trying to eat while surrounded by snakes. “ yeah i think that might be a more niche market than cats. just the thought of a snake slithering around on me while i’m trying to drink my tea - ” shrinking into herself as she shook her head. “ no, nope. ”

“we’ve got this! worse comes to worst we send the paps after elle to get her attention. i’m sure she’d send us a car or something, however that works,” mia snorts, before looping her arm through phil’s. “let’s go find something fun to do. maybe it’s a weird message from the universe to live in the moment, have fun gettin’ lost a wee bit.” it sounds like something that should be embroidered on an old pillow, which is exactly why she says it, an amused smile rising to her lips.

a matching snort at the thought of a bunch of people chasing after elle. “ sounds like an exellent plan, if we’re lucky she’ll send the paps along too, i’ve always wanted to have a swarm of strangers following me around. ” she giggled the sound of their synchronized steps like loud puckering smacks against the wet ground. “ well i’m not hearing any secret whispers from the wind but i’m always up for an adventure. maybe we’ll find a secret bar or a cute guy who has a twin. ”

“ i'm not sure that i have one anymore. i used to go to this park with my first husband, we'd hike up to a waterfall and have picnics together but i haven't been to it since he died. even your favorite places can feel hollow without the ones you love. ”

“ besides i like adventures , getting lost in london is better than doing boring classes, ” she giggled , feeling the other lock their fingers together as they wandered the streets together . “ i could really do with a coffee right now , do you think they have some of those dogs cafes or cat cafes around here? ” she mused.

“ shh if you don’t talk about classes then they don’t exist right ? ” she teased gently bumping her hip against the others. eyes lighting up at the thought of having a cup of tea with a cute cat in her lap, “ i sure hope so, i’ve always wanted to see one in person. ”

chuckling again, tommy nodded. she had a point. “we are somewhere which means it’s not a total lost cause.” no pun intended. “hey man, i trust you. i think we’ll figure it out or we’ll wander around until someone sends out a rescue party to find us.” either one seemed equally likely to tommy. “we might find the coolest thing no one else gets to see cause we got lost….also if we don’t want a rescue party sent after us we can use google maps.” he suggested. the technology did exist if they wanted to give up on their adventure. 

“ you trust me ? that might be a terrible mistake but only time will tell. ” she teased eyebrows raising as he spoke. honestly she wasn’t sure what would be worse, being brought back home by the police when the dean reports them missing or never making their way back at all. “ oh you’re right - ” reaching for her phone frown on her face, “ except i have no service. it’s looking more and more like we’re just going to have to hoof it. ”

in her first few days people made sure she knew about some of the more wild adventures. some of it she still wasn’t sure happened at all. instead of regaling him with stories of things she’d seen she leaned her head against her hands most of his words going in one ear and other the other. “ you have a very soothing voice, has anyone ever told you that ? ” she asked with a grin, “ while we’re eating microwave popcorn and watching everyone destroy each other you can be the one narrating. your soothing tones will keep me from wanting to get in the middle of the next fight. sitting on the sidelines is fun but sometimes i need a little action you know ? ”

this was a side of herself she’d tucked away after her second husband died. it’d gotten so small that she’d almost forgotten it was there and yet tessa had been able to pull it from her without a drop of effort. “ that’s exactly what i said ! why should you get a pass just because you happened to come out the same snatch. ” she couldn’t help but laugh at the thought of anyone not showing tessa the proper respect. she didn’t strike phil as the kind of woman who didn’t simply take what she wanted, “ aw a pony. ”a small pout on her lips, “ and he still had the audacity to be so rude to his mother ? ”

                               ❛     thankfully  ,  both  of  us  have  our  phones  ,  too  ,   ❜  right  ?  thank  the  cosmos  for  modern  technology  to  help  them  navigate  their  way  back  to  to  the  hotel  .  alycia  fished  her  phone  out  of  her  pocket  and   —  dead .   she  must  have  forgotten  to  charge  it  before  leaving  .   ❛    look  ,  i’m  a  level  958  lesbian  so  i  absolutely  have  no  sense  direction  ,   can’t  do  math  ,  and  can’t  drive  unless  it’s  a  u - haul  ,     ❜   she  began  ,  poking  fun  at  herself  ,  her  usual  nervous  reaction   ,      ❛   so  finding  our  way  back  is  definitely  gonna  be  all  you  .    ❜

“ right. ” she nodded as she patted down her pockets mentally checking off, keys, wallet, phone...phone? “ wrong. did i have my phone when we left ? ” she couldn’t remember and now her mind was frantically searching her memory for any hints of her with it. her usually cool exterior starting to crack. “ this is fine. this is fine. ” she said the words to herself almost forgetting alycia was there as she took a breath rubbing a small circle into her palm with her thumb. “ okay directions, i can get us directions, all we need is to find someone. ”

“it’s okay, we’re in a city, we’ll never be too far from civilization,” mia says with an easy smile and a shrug. “i feel like now’s the time to tell you i left my phone back at the hotel, though.”

“ that’s okay i have mine... ” trailing off as she pulled it out of her pocket stomach dropping as the red battery flashed across the screen. “ but it’s dead. ” putting the phone away just as quickly as the nerves, “ well i guess the only thing left to do is wander about and hope we find our way back. ”

she paused for a moment wondering how a map was going to help them at all. “ d-do you know how to read a map ? because otherwise it’s not a treasure map it’s just a piece of paper that nobody can do anything with. ” eyebrows raising as he kept talking, well we’re never finding our way back to the hotel if he’s relying on a video game for instructions.
