I thought about creating an Alternative Universe based on the 17-year-old Steven Diamond, where the Pink Diamond becomes the greatest colonizer of planet Earth, leaving Steven in his place to command the rest of the planet and having only Pearl, Rubi and Lapis Lazuli as his devotees.

Do you have any tips on how to color the light underside of a dark skinned person's palm? How much lighter should it be, and should it be pale or have a redder tint like blush? I'm white and I worry I've been doing it incorrectly.

Eesh, coloring darkskin palms is one of those things i’m good at doing but not so good at explaining, so i’ll try my best on this one

Okay so starting off

The palm of a dark skin person’s hand is simply just a reflection of their undertone

Everyone has an undertone and black people are no different. A dark skin person’s palm is a part of their hand that has little to no melanin. Without all of that melanin the only thing that’s left is their undertone

Black people with an orange undertone tend to have orange looking palms

Black people with a neutral undertone tend to have a mixture of pinkish orange-ish looking palms

And black people with red undertones tend to have pink looking palms

So how exactly do you determine the palm color and undertone of a darkskin black person?

When it comes to a black person with a neutral skin tone rather than raising the color up in the Spectrum simply just lighten the skin

Skin tone can be complicated so I made a few examples:

Make sure when coloring black palms to always add a gradient

Hello, i'm an artist that would like advice on some very particular things, if you comfortable with this, i would like to know how you draw fur coats, if possible but also how you emphasize muscles under suits, i enjoy your work, keep it up! :3

Sure! It’s an honor to ask for advice from me.The simple tips I can give you are this.↓

It has many different ways of expression. But I mainly express fur in this way. Simple and easy. Because fur-covered coats are usually for cold winter, they are often long below the knees.

Let’s see the muscles under suits. It have to be dressed tight to see the muscles under clothes. Therefore, if the muscles in the suit look greasy, there must be a lot of wrinkles based on buttons and sewing.

There’s a lot of data on this, so it’s not bad to look at it and practice it.

i’m gonna drop an art tip here

i think an important thing to learn, especially if you start out with drawing anime, is that faces don’t necessarily have to narrow from top to bottom

i like to think of wide top, wide middle, wide bottom, and rectangle-like as the 4 main face shapes

what you should keep in mind about them:

you’re only halfway done: the jawlines, the width-length ratio, the amount of fat in the cheeks, the intensity or subtlety of the face’s curves are all important components you still have to decide on after choosing the shape itself

none of these shapes are exclusively feminine or masculine, don’t hesitate drawing them on any gender

most people in real life have some variation of the wide middle type

if you are trying to draw real people, getting the shape of their face down is the first step

i’ve seen tutorials say the shape of the face can tell a lot of the character’s personality - you don’t necessarily have to live by that rule. as long as you aren’t unrealistically drastic about their proportions, their face shape determines their inner qualities as much as it would in real life (not at all)
