this is ridculously late because I assume your fic has been up for ages, but I wanted to let you know that people who are being treated for eating disorders don't get to know their weight when they have check-ins at the doctor - they make you face away from the readout of the scale and don't leave the scale in the room with you.

Thank you for letting me know! I'm sure that fic (Someday) has a lot of inaccuracies to the experience as aside from anxiety, it isn't something I've personally been through. It looks like the first time the scales were out that the weight was kept private, but I found the section I think you're referring to in chapter 4, and reading it now, 9 years later, it does seem like something I should've researched more. I wrote that fic as a teenager, inspired by other fics I'd read (probably also by teenagers at the time), and while the passion was there, I think my focus was really on the story of one character being there for the other through a struggle, rather than accurately depicting the struggle of an eating disorder. I'm not currently writing phanfic, but the stuff I write now is definitely much more heavily researched if I'm writing about something I don't have a whole lot of experience with. I'm not going to be making any changes to Someday, because its been way too long, but this does make me think that maybe I should put an updated little disclaimer about inaccuracies on it for anyone like you who does choose to read it now.
