I have a new hero

More and more as I watch this guy I’m realizing that -this- is how a real lawyer should handle themselves, and I used to want to take up Law when I was younger but got less involved because of all of the corruption in it. I wanted to become a Prosecutor because I don’t think I could ever convince myself to defend people I didn’t believe in for pay, and while being a prosecutor may have made me make some wrong decisions or put people in jail who didn’t deserve it, I’m actually very happy with Lawyers like Devin Stone, and believe that he deserves every ounce of support that anyone can give him. I don’t feel like I speak much but this is someone I want to vocally support as much as I can. He does his best to provide both sides to arguments and maintains what is morally the correct thing to do. I know this isn’t much but anything I can do to help get his word out there in his fight against the DOJ and the White House the better. I’m sure it’s already rather well-known but... if someone doesn’t know about it, well, maybe someone who saw this can learn of it through me. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0sazcZ8wwZc

Not NB myself but figured i could reblog this for any NB people that feel like this as well and know that there are others with you. ^-^

It’s just lonely, you know. Being the only NB person I know. Having trouble reaching out to others. Never having been part of a LGBT community outright, just in communities that are accepting of gay, bi, pan, trans, and crossdressing… but can’t be bothered to use they/them for me. And I always worry about saying the wrong thing if I ever consider reaching out.

I just… wish I had someone that understood this part of me.

Wait a minute if elves take a hundred years to grow up that has some weird implications.

So… if we say a human comes of age in fantasy worlds at 16, that means it takes an elf 6.25 years to age one human year. If we say the age of maturity is 18 that’s 5.55 years.

So then… okay with people that live a long time have to see their human friends die and probably see them like pets yeah that’s been explored to death. But what about a human just seeing their friend not grow up?

An elf toddler and a human toddler become friends at a playdate. At the time the human is two and the elf is 13. Emotionally the elf is just a little older than the human. But then the human grows up. He grows up and as he grows up his friend doesn’t. Not much, anyways.

She’s still sucking her thumb and throwing tantrums the entire time that he grows up. When he reaches the age where he’d choose a trade or go to an academy he’s earning extra money by babysitting her. During his initiation into adulthood on his 18th birthday she’s there with her parents holding a stuffed animal. Later that afternoon he sees her being shown some colorful flashcards with letters of the elvish alphabet on it by her father.

The human gets older. He learns how to fight, he goes from town to town getting work. At some point he joins the army. Every time he visits his hometown he has at least one more scar and by the time he’s 30 and the elf girl is mentally seven by human standards she starts to understand that something is wrong. Even after he settles down to be a home maker for the local blacksmith something feels wrong.

And she watches him grow old. When she’s in her 80s she babysits his grandchildren for extra cash after school, coming over in her school robes and ruffling his hair. She doesn’t remember why she became friends with this human or when but a strange sense of jealousy fills her heart.

Now she realizes it. She realizes it too late, on the day her friend learns that he is dying. The first day of her 100th year and the start of his last. Humans’ lifetimes may only last for the childhood of an elf if they’re lucky, but they learn so fast. They do so much. They cram their days full of love and hate and learning and wonder.

He knew this was coming. He knew all of this decades before she did, because elves are slow. Not stupid, certainly not stupid, but very very slow. She holds her old friend’s hand as he lays down on his bed. A man that has led such an ordinary life but feels so extraordinary to her. Because he has always, always been there and now he just won’t. Because in her eyes he became so wise so fast and now he’s just gonna be gone.

On an elf’s 100th birthday they are allowed to choose a new name for themselves. It can be important, or not. Usually it will follow them until the end of time. She stands in front of her family’s elders and is asked what name she will be called from now on.

She names herself after him.

It’s on our list of characters the audience wants to see on a card.

Orcs aren’t known for their great cuisine. Orcs prefer foods that are readily available (whatever can be had by raiding), and portable with little preparation, though they have a few racial delicacies. Toughs strips of lean meat, bones scavenged from recent kills, and dark coarse bread make up the bulk of common orc rations.Fire roasted rothe femur (marrow is a rare treat) [beef femur], Strips of dried meat (of unknown origin) [homemade goose jerky], foraged nuts, only edible by orcs….nut cracker tusks [brazil nuts], coarse black bread, made with whatever grains can be pillaged [black sesame bread], Pungent peppers [Habanero peppers stuffed with smoked fish and olives].

Pan fried Delimbyr smelt, spiced goat cheese (paprika crusted hand pressed Fontina), Gnome shortbread (savory pistachio), glass travel jar filled with Secomber Red (wine), hard boiled quail eggs packed in rolled oats (to keep safe), dried figs from Calimshan, and Southwood smoked goat sausage (blood sausage).

Lizardfolk are known to be omnivores, forage for a surprising variety of foods found within the confines of their marshy environs, in this case the Lizard Marsh near Daggerford. Fresh caught boiled Delimbyr Crayfish on wild chives, coastal carrageen moss entrapping estuary brine shrimp (irish moss, dried brine shrimp), Brackish-Berries (blackberries), Blackened Dart-Frog legs (frog legs) on spring sprouts (clover sprouts), roasted bog bugs on a stick!

Anti-trans activists caused a transgender children’s charity - Mermaids - to have part of it’s lottery funding suspended.  In response, Youtuber HBomberGuy decided to do a non-stop playthrough of Donkey King 64 until getting to 101% completion while donating any money raised to Mermaids.

Highlights: John Romero jumped on the stream and shouted “TRANS RIGHTS” which caused donations to go wild.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Cher retweeted the stream. AOC seems to have joined the Discord for the stream.

AOC TALKED ON DISCORD IN THE STREAM. She was amazing and so eloquent.

Further Update: Neil Gaiman retweeted. Also, they reached $222,222 while HBomberGuy was taking a #2.
