It’s an old joke from Eddie Izzard, basically it boils down to England trying to keep a bunch of countries after the world wars and the joke is they need the Falkland islands for “strategic sheep purposes”. It’s like roughly a 1:30 minutes into video.

I do really love the idea Charon makes his own contract and that’s why he doesn’t really want to talk about it further than the rules tbh.

can we PLEASE talk about charon i am DYING to talk about charon. i really dislike the idea that hes a prewar soldier i think it kind of cheapens the idea of the contract i like the idea that hes a vault escapee of one of the destroyed mind control vaults and wrote the contract himself in a really shortsighted way of trying to control who can anf cant tell him what to do (as opposed to anyone anywhere being able to tell him what to do) and the ghoulification came after. really slowly. and now hes like that bc he never actually dealt with the effects of the mind control conditioning. i also think he has chronic pain in all of his joints and NO LIPS. STOP GIVING HIM LIPS

Wasteland pollinators

Okay hear me out. Lot of invertebrates went wild and grew way to big do to the FEV or radiation. Our current system is highly reliant on Bees and wasps making our figs possible.

Bees in all honesty probably only survived in pockets of the world if it mirrors a shittier version on our world. Bees had to still exist when the the bombs dropped. But given that they only appear the fallout 76 (this could be a massive oversight or it could be, by that point most bees had died from colony collapse and the honey beasts and bees only survived in specific locations) What if honey beasts make an antimicrobial ooze or waxy substance…. Which regular bees use cleans them of things capable of destroying a hive: fungus and parasites etc. In exchange they build their nest and protect the honey beasts. I wonder if the honey beasts aren’t something kind of rare prewar made mutated queen bee that managed to save the bees in a post apocalyptic fallout world.

So how are other things being pollinated in the wastelands in my opinion. By several different localized pocket species or in some areas by human hands or baby radroach nymphs. Radroaches, are literally everywhere in fallout.

Mutfruit is pollinated by radroaches nymphs in the capital wasteland in the few areas it can grow. I refuse to believe otherwise.

Punga fruit I think is animal or rather human and habit reliant.

Personally I find the idea short flighted pollinating beetles about the size of a bumblebee. that’s larva eat wood or maybe a specific type of food crop fascinating. The idea of an immediately closed system, to the point where humans can’t do much more than move eggs/ larva or risk the crops not producing.
