Dissociation Starters
FROM THE EMPTY
“No… I’m not hurt.”
“I don’t…”
“… Sorry. Say that again?”
“Sometimes I just … do this. It’s fine.”
“No, it’s bad, but I’m. Like. I’m fine. Just give me like, ten minutes.”
“I don’t - I don’t remember.”
“You waited how long?”
“… I don’t like [trigger].”
“Will you walk me home?”
“I love you, I just… I can’t… I’m dissociating.”
“I.. don’t know how I got here.”
“I didn’t feel that. At all.”
“Did I zone out?”
“Don’t touch me.”
“My name is [name]. I’m [age]. I live in [place]. My name is [name] -”
“I can’t think of anything to do that isn’t stupid, canyouhelpme?”
“How did you find me?”
“I think I’m in [different State]. Will you come?”
FROM THE FULL
“Hey. [Name]? Look at me.”
“I’m right here.”
“How long have you been sitting here?”
“What happened?”
“Your shirt is on backwards.”
“Is it okay if I touch you?”
“It’s windy today. This bench has a nice texture, don’t you think?”
“Do you mind if I sit with you?”
“Okay, I’ll be here.”
“Hey - come in. Don’t worry about it. I’m glad you came.”
“Drink some water. It has ice.”
“I’ll run a shower.”
“Let me wash it for you.”
“I can’t clean you up if I can’t touch you. Will you give me your hand?”
“We’ll ride it out. You’re safe here.”
“I’ll put on a movie.”

What kind of love are you?
love that heals
your love is healing. it burns you with every bit of your soul, but you choose to heal, nevertheless. you are so, so so strong and i hope you know that. i send you peace. i send you calm. i hope things will become better for you in time, just as you have made others better in time as well.

"Uh-huh." Lyoka didn't know much about 'people-ing', but she knew enough about fighters. Came with the territory. If the girl in front of her was a drifter, then definitely not some hippie kind: eyes too sharp, keeps her guard up too casually. And then she'd started mirroring the circling movement, keeping them face to face and guarding her back, which only confirmed it. "Nice friends you got there, then."
After that observation, the offer of parkour tag came almost as no surprise. Almost, because, again, nobody gave much mind to a street rat like Lyoka, especially not after she'd just tried to swipe off them. But this one did. Fun. New.
She 'tsk'ed a little in thought, sucking in air through the missing tooth gap, and grinned wider. She knew she wasn't the fastest long-distance runner, but she loved climbing. And a challenge. ...and a promise of food, which was the entire reason she even attempted the steal in the first place. This was better.
"Got yourself a deal, drifter." She made a few steps backwards, back first, and in one quick motion hopped on a lid of a huge dumpster, squatting on top of it, keeping her eyes on the other girl still. "Tag, huh? You a prey or a hunter?"
She kept her guard up just a little, but her body language still shows that she's open enough to not be confrontational at all. If memory serves her well right now, Ryuko wouldn't have any problem reacting to any advance this girl would try to pull. Maybe it's age catching up to her, but she jad seen her fair share of street fights and rumbles like this.
Now as to why she didn't react the way the girl had expected? It's a simple reason, honestly: she really did remind her or her younger, more reckless self.
"Let's just say...I have an old friend that reminded me of you. Respectfully, she's a good friend, had the same spark of mischief you did. And about the same kind of bruises too."
Something she picked up from one of her boys who dabbled in dance, Ryuko then started "stip-stepping" lightly around in the opposite direction, almost mirroring the other girl. "You look like the parkour type too. Tell you what, if you don't mind entertaining this ol girl to one parkour tag, we can go grab something to stuff our face later." And she also owes the other girl her name.

Lyoka leaned slightly back on pure instinct, not startled, just habitually cautious. The way this stranger saw right through her was concerning for a minute there, but then the older girl stepped back with a wink and a smirk, and oh. So that's how it was.
She very pointedly stuffed her hands deep in the pockets of her hoodie, signaling a capitulation, and her whole body language suddenly changed, going from a 'Who, me? I'm not doing anything!' to definitely being up to mischief. The smile stayed on though, more curious now. It's been a while since she met a match either.
"Oh, you're fun." She stepped around Ryuko a little, almost circling her, but in an evidently curious, non-threatening way. "Not a lot of sharp people 'round here, I'll tell you that much. Most are either too tired or too cocky, like cops. Plus!" One gotta restore her honor somewhat: "Usually goes a bit differently. People get mad — they get in your face, close that distance for ya." Lyoka cocked her head to the side: "Or they see my fucked up mug and cross the street. You did neither. That's new." Why?
"Can't say that I am. I'm kinda a drifter, just going about here and there, not staying in one place."
Honestly, Ryuko couldn't help feeling just a little bit bittersweet looking at this other girl. She used to be just like this; scruffed up, bruises here and there. But the only stark difference was that for some insane reason, as far as she remembered until the point of that particular revelation, she managed to heal up almost faster than normal.
She was still seemingly concerned, but not to the point of worry, In fact, she almost leaned just enough to not startle the girl, a knowing smile on her face.
"Oh and, a little tip? You might think you're keeping your distance, but you're way too close where some sharp people can tell you're about to do something to them."
A cheeky wink, and a dancer's step backwards. "Lucky for you, I'm in a good mood myself~ Been ages since somebody tried a sleight of hand on me."

CONT. FROM @vindicta-reliquiae
"Who, me? Oh, I'm fine, dontcha worry." Lyoka lowered her hands with a good-natured snort. Today was actually one of the good days. Now she just needed to make it a tiny bit better — but the girl she chose to run into threw her a little off the script by asking. Usually people did not bother. That gave her a pause and made her quickly re-evaluate the stranger's appearance — hopefully not too obviously.
"You local?" The girl did not have the typical autopilot eyes of most locals. Shit.
She was still standing considerably close. Close enough to try and sneak a hand to swipe the other's wallet off of her in the midst of talking, as had been the plan. Now she, however, hesitated.

Lyoka jumped back from the sudden pops, purely a reflex, but then immediately curiously scooted back closer again to look.
Then snorted, almost despite herself.
"Oh no, poor fuckers. ...the way they went Pop! though." She enunciated it with her hands: "Pop!" And immediately giggled like a little kid who just discovered that a rubber toy squeaks if you hit it.
"I think so."
Whendi crouched near the industrious ants, carefully held a finger over them, and released a beam of bright green energy at them. They stopped and seemed to expand, eliciting a grin from the chaos witch - until they all suddenly popped when they hit about two and a half centimeters in length.
"Ah shit."
