another thing to maybe think about is what would happen if a darkner GAINED a soul while in the dark world.

Maybe when they gain the soul they become a lightner, and can then move onto the world beyond the dark fountains, which would make sense with the themes of freedom and spampton specifically wanting your [heart shaped object]. Because them getting your soul would mean freedom to go into the real world, which they might view as heaven
