At that moment, Mercury had thought unknowingly become a third wheel to a lovers’ quarrel. Of course, then Cinder had to go and slap her, and Mercury wasn’t sure WHAT to think. Now Mercury knew. It was one-sided blind admiration. Maybe he was wrong. He never really could read what Cinder was feeling. But, if Cinder insisted being loyal to Salem, Mercury couldn’t help but feel it was a good thing. He wanted her here too but.. what would become of her presence? “I know,” Mercury admitted, eyes on the door leading to the kitchen. “Maybe we’ll get lucky. Maybe she’ll make her way back here. But I don’t miss Salem’s plans. I didn’t realise when you two showed up at my place that I’d be signing up for that bullshit.”

emerald hated how much she cared for cinder, deep down that was. she was sure by now that mercury knew about her crush, after all, it was probably very obvious. ' maybe. ' she frowned before sighing. em had this thought in the back of her head since she got here. maybe it was time to tell him. ' but I have this thought in the back of my head that if cinder does come here, what's stopping her from dragging us back? ' emerald didn't want to go back, she was sure that mercury didn't want to go back with a passion. but again, if cinder asked. ' cinder wants power, i know that, and she won't willing leave no matter how much SHIT Salem puts her through. ' she offered a small laugh as she looked up at him.
