This piece was the first thing I drew for the zine, and I struggled with it for a long time! I really wanted to show a scene full of atmosphere, where Ford, having reached old age, finds Bill waiting for him after death. In this blissful scenario every moment of hate and bitterness fades away – they have found a true ‘soul’s home’ with one another. For the colours, I was inspired by the romantic, watercolour-like endings of early Disney films, particularly Snow White and Fantasia.

I think Bill was totally amazed by the view, and it's the most beautiful thing he has ever seen in his life, because Stanford's mind never shines the same way, there are always new connections and electrical patterns creating new landscapes.

I like to think that Bill took two years to mention the portal, because he was too busy teaching him new things to see that mind shine.
