I've been resource gathering for YEARS so now I am going to share my dragons hoard

Floorplanner. Design and furnish a house for you to use for having a consistent background in your comic or anything! Free, you need an account, easy to use, and you can save multiple houses.

Comparing Heights. Input the heights of characters to see what the different is between them. Great for keeping consistency. Free.

Magma. Draw online with friends in real time. Great for practice or hanging out. Free, paid plan available, account preferred.

Smithsonian Open Access. Loads of free images. Free.

SketchDaily. Lots of pose references, massive library, is set on a timer so you can practice quick figure drawing. Free.

SculptGL. A sculpting tool which I am yet to master, but you should be able to make whatever 3d object you like with it. free.

Pexels. Free stock images. And the search engine is actually pretty good at pulling up what you want.

Figurosity. Great pose references, diverse body types, lots of "how to draw" videos directly on the site, the models are 3d and you can rotate the angle, but you can't make custom poses or edit body proportions. Free, account option, paid plans available.

Line of Action. More drawing references, this one also has a focus on expressions, hands/feet, animals, landscapes. Free.

Animal Photo. You pose a 3d skull model and select an animal species, and they give you a bunch of photo references for that animal at that angle. Super handy. Free.

Height Weight Chart. You ever see an OC listed as having a certain weight but then they look Wildly different than the number suggests? Well here's a site to avoid that! It shows real people at different weights and heights to give you a better idea of what these abstract numbers all look like. Free to use.

A few years ago while trying to find ways to commit suicide as painlessly as possible, I came across a PDF of Dr. Paul Quinnett's The Forever Decision. Thinking it might go into actual methods of suicide (I read an article once that actually did that and was trying to find it again) I started to read it, and I think I only got about two pages in before I was crying too much to actually see the words.

I downloaded the PDF to my hard drive and I open it again whenever I'm feeling too suicidal to do much else, but not enough to start booking a ride to the hospital. And every time without fail I only go up to a few pages before backing off and choosing to live another day just because suicide suddenly seems even more unbearable than whatever the hell upset me in the first place.

All the book really does is [I'm pulling a summary from GoodReads here as, again, I've read no more than 5 pages] "discusses the social aspects of suicide, the right to die, anger, loneliness, depression, stress, hopelessness, drug and alcohol abuse, the consequences of a suicide attempt, and how to get help."

But it also starts with the author kindly asking the reader to complete the book before going through with anything, and for some reason I'm compelled to really just try to read it all before finalizing everything. Despite not yet completing it (hopefully never will) I think I can safely say it's saved my life at least a few times now.

It's intentionally legal to copy and redistribute this book to keep it as accessible as possible, and it's very easy to find, but here's a link for it anyways.

I've been thinking about an au like this for a while and decided to bite the bullet.

Info dump ( I WILL make more art for this, but I just need to get this out of my chest first and foremost 😭):

So, changelings are very very weak parasites, that rely on their mother ( queen changelings) for basically everything for a good chunk of their life, that is until the queen changeling decides that they are ready and gives off a certain "cue" that tells all their children that they don't need to hold back anymore and will effectively "eat" her. This will typically give most changelings in the hive enough strength to venture out on their own without the reliance on a hive. Since it's very dangerous for them to stay near each other without a queen to be a mediator and a massive food source. The changelings have evolved to feel as little love as possible ( if they love others back, they are literally just dying) however it's impossible to fully snuff out the emotion of love, for when a changeling queen forms they need that emotion in order to feed their children.

Changelings use up a lot of effort and thinking to transform. It hurts them because they are bending and molding their body in a way that doesn't fit, it's not what they truly look like. Yet it's the only way they can eat. ( They are very deadly when given a target, shining armor in this au was literally a step away from the grave in the wedding) However they are inherently very good liars and are persuasive. Sure they might get a detail just a little wrong, but it's too small for anyone to really point out. And they really only have one person they need to truly fool, so who cares if anyone else is... Unnerved by them?

Changeling queens by design are stronger and it's easier for them to transform, since they are hunting for their babies. That being said the longer they are in their hive the weaker they get and the more and more they need rely on their hive. Which is very counterproductive, so most changelings queens opt to teach them just the basics or just be their first meal and let them run amok. To a queen changeling, their eventual death by their children is nothing more abnormal than a baby sucking nutrition in a mother's womb. And to think otherwise is just down right hypocritical and disgusting to them.

queen chrysalis is an outrageous example, since she's been with her hive far longer than what is typically. Due to this she is in pain most days, but hides it since she doesn't want to spread weakness to her children. The last thing she needs is a weakness in her hive because she can't let go. That's the reason why she took the gamble in cadence and shining's wedding despite the fact that she could have easily died. She's selfish. she doesn't want to part with her children or being queen, a part of her wishes that she didn't love them so much. But she can't help it. For that's truly all she was made to do.

Love. Her. Children.

Even if they can't love her back. And no matter how much she wants to hate them for it, she just can't. She just hopes that by the time they fully devour her, that they'll be smart enough to never go hungry again. And is it so wrong for her to enjoy her life as a queen until then?

Ps: she uses the veil so that she doesn't need to use even more power to make a "coherent" appearance. The eyes in her dress are her children, some are eating away at her love while others are simply helping her move better. ( It's instinctual for a hive to pamper and help their queen)

Her name is Apollonia ( her parents were extra lol). Her parents are both members of the London philharmonic orchestra, and they raised her with an appreciation with all sorts of music. she's a promising flutist that was a fan of dethklok. She had posted some flute covers of dethklok songs, on some fan forums. And made some online friends through that, aside from that and the merch she bought, she was pretty casual as a fan. She truly just admired the music itself, not really giving much else attention. she however was sooo excited when her parents told her that the London Philharmonic Orchestra was going to work with dethklok for a concert. However just like the rest of the orchestra, her parents got split in half because of the laser. she had begged her parents to let her go to the concert... So she had to watch her parents get cut in half.

This greatly depressed her, and she developed agoraphobia. She couldn't leave her house for months, the only reason she was able to get up in the morning was because of her dog. With the money she inherited from her parents, she made sure that her dog ( baroque) was pampered and that she... Got by. That being said, she can't play music out loud anymore ( much less dethklok music), she feels that same panic and fear she felt when they died in front of her whenever she hears music played out loud. Or her Being in a crowd, and couldn't help but feel the same type of helplessness.

She's conflicted on her feelings towards dethklok. Cuz she's like 99.999999999999% sure that they didn't mean to kill the orchestra. But with her loads of free time she got obsessed, and started to track down all of the deaths that happened around them. It's just so much, and there just has to be this pattern! She's sure of it!

For a while she became obsessed, trying to figure out just why death seems to be around them all the time. This only exacerbated her agoraphobia, seeing as dethklok is everywhere. She has thrown out all of her merch in fear ( the spiked collar/bracelet is not merch just a cute gift a friend gave her), and has tried to throw out the deaddy bear baroque has. But just couldn't since it's his favorite, and he'll get sad... And so far he hasn't died, so she should be fine? Right? RIGHT?

She slowly realizes that almost everyone she talks to that likes dethklok, is fine dying due to it. the sheer amount of worship and acceptance, her online friends and other people she talked to was astounding. She complied reason after reason, all of them different yet the same. She tried to make sense of it and to put her self in their shoes. She's left with an epiphany, they are simply gods. And when it comes to God, all a human could do is worship and die for their cause. And how could you blame such mortals? God is beyond human, beyond anything.

in the end she was just tired, and sure that dethklok was destined for something great. Be it good or not, she didn't know. And she frankly didn't care. For they were destined for something... beyond her. Or maybe she's just crazy, she didn't know anymore. She was a human just like everyone else, just like her parents. She'll die one day, so instead of trying to understand 'God'. No matter how long it might take she'll just try to live, for her parents, for baroque... And for herself.

I'm so embarrassed, but I got overly attached to her so I'm posting my baby girl. Her story and design might change, but I'm pretty happy with her so far.

Toki stared at the clown doll, old and tattered. It had been years since he held it, years since he saw it, since he hugged it. It was falling apart. He couldn't believe it, the doll he loved. His first friend. His protector during those cold frigid nights. His warmth... His comfort... His safety... All of it, was just a doll? A toy.

An idea I've been playing with, cuz as far as I know, I don't think we know what happened to his clown doll :<

I also had a similar thought, that became an oddly specific HC that I'll probably draw out later. I was thinking that toki would have a 'black thumb' and has killed every plant that he's ever touched. Still, he likes to visit the graves of people that he had cared about ( to check up on them and "fill" them in on his life). When he visits he still wants to bring them flowers. Instead of just getting a klokateer, he gets skwisgaar instead because he swears up and down that when skwisgaar touches the flowers "it lasts a little longer". It takes a lot of begging but usually skwisgaar relents and goes with him, even if begrudgingly.

You know how Toki and Skwisgaar juxtapose one another with Skwisgaar being a “God of life” and Toki being an “Angel of death”? What if it’s not only a difference between life and death? We all know that Skwisgaar has multiple kids so what if as a juxtaposition to Skwisgaar, Toki is infertile and unable to have any kids? Like Skwisgaar doesn’t want a family but has had many children while Toki wants a family but can’t have any children no matter how much he wants them😳😭
