It's... It's weird having almost a full year speed by, I don't even know what to say.

My work has been in monster boss mode since last summer. Energy-sucking chaos! Unfortunately, my new role there has meant lots more responsibility and zero wage adjustment for now.

We're going to be moving this year and possibly tearing down and renovating while settling into our new home. I hope my little girl will like living there, I hope we made a good choice. I love her so much, she's so fun to hang out with! I think if no one objects I'll share doodles I draw for her on here, too?

My dad-in-law is still fighting a long hard losing battle against cancer.

A few days ago, we found out my own dad will need to have head surgery that probably includes drilling through his skull bone.

I often feel pretty anxious and scared and sad. And oddly angry for some reason.

I miss making art and posting on tumblr. I really, REALLY miss making my comic. (I am on here every day for at least a little bit, though!)

I feel like every time I relax a bit, that I somehow jinx some segement of my life into getting more complicated.

Oh well!

I have been very excited with how much new Franklin Expedition discoveries have been made within recent years!

HMS Erebus depicted as one of the ceramic dining plates found during exploration dives into its wreckage

James Fitzjames commemorative - his signature, doodles of "arm fish" and the remnant of the mandible that served to finally identify him.

Both of these are available as a sticker set in my shop here, and if you are an attendee of Terror Camp 2024 ( @terrorcamp on tumblr), you can find a discount code in the Artist's Alley.

I'll draw a coloured sketch of one character, as in the examples above... I can do face and shoulders for humanoid characters, head or whole body for pet portraits or animal/monster characters depending on what you prefer.
