The Old Guard 2 spoilers
Just my thoughts if anyone’s interested.
I have never been more disappointed with a sequel than with this one. The trailer was better than the actual movie.
The camera work was shoddy, the characters and dialogue fell flat, and suddenly, Nile has superpowers and can take away the others' immortality?? The found family vibes and the familiarity between the characters was gone. Nicolo, you've known this man a thousand years, where's the chemistry? Why do you act like coworkers??
Where was the actual plot?! What was the point of this movie aside as a complete and total waste of a set-up for a third one!!
And I'm sorry, Discord was stupid, a waste of talent and time, and Henry Golding, honey, I'm sorry, you barely had like ten lines. Come on, producers, we're just suddenly bringing in age-old immortals that are older than Andy? Andy? Who's been around since BCE? :| okay
And of course, Booker would give his immortality to Andy, he's been passively suicidal since the first movie. It was obvious from the moment Tuah said something.
And where was the amazing fighting choreography that was seen in the first one? This was choppy at best and sloppy at worst. The fight scenes were incredibly boring.
Legit for about 50% of this movie, they were just sitting around in really cool Airbnbs looking depressed and constipated.
And the whole thing with Quynh and Andy??? If you're gonna make them a thing just do it so I can stop watching and get over it, don't be cowards. She was useless as a villain. I absolutely hate when villain characters are angry at the person who thought they were dead. YOU WERE DEAD DUDE, GET OVER IT THEY THOUGHT THEY LOST YOU, GROW UP AND TALK ABOUT IT LIKE AN ADULT
I was severely disappointed Netflix. Thank you for nothing, you useless streaming service. Next time you want to chop a movie in half for more money, I'm not falling for it.

Okayyyyyy so I had a lot of thoughts about these two scenes. I mean they’re in the exact same position yet totally opposite
Ezekiel is literally burying his head into his mum’s shoulder and his little nose scrunch before he melts agh - he’s feeling loved and safe and it’s obviously an act that his mom hasn’t done often but he’s been hugged by her before. You can tell by the way he didn’t flinch or freeze as she came up to him.
But with Stone? With Jake?? His look of bewilderment and confusion as his “dad” comes towards him?? Isaac does not meet his son with kindness ever. Jake froze when his dad hugged him. He thinks Jacob is worthless and is bad enough that Jacob immediately knew he wasn’t his real dad because he said that he loves him. That hug wasn’t just rare, it probably never has happened in his adult life. Jake shoves his head into Isaac’s shoulder and gets to pretend his dad loves him.
I just have a lot of thoughts about this ugh-

Does anyone else experience the transition from your parents picking out your TV options to suddenly you’re in control of the remote? Like I always feel like I’m going to be judged or told to change the channel because it’s inappropriate, even if it’s not. I just feel like I’m going to get in trouble. It’s just kinda jarring.

Is it okay if I add on to this? I totally agree with both. As a fan of both NCIS and Five-O, I completed both series in a short time, haha I’m pathetic I know but I really didn’t like the NCIS Hawaii addition. It lacked substance and the characters felt bland and cliche at the same time. A troubled teenaged son, a working mom who’s supposed to be a badbutt agent as well as a lovable mom and a studious pre-teen daughter. While I’m all for cliches if they’re done well, it fell flat. I couldn’t help myself to compare the new series with Five-O and I didn’t like it. And with NCIS episodes I felt like they were trying to push everything exciting that happens at once. I don’t know, I think it didn’t hook me and I found myself turning it off almost without finishing it. All I’m saying is I’m glad other people are feeling the same way.
While scrolling through my FB feed, I saw a post that NCIS fans were NOT happy with the Hawaii adaptation. I've never really got into NCIS myself but because I miss H50 I thought I might later give it a go based on what I get from other fans/friends with similar taste. But from what I've seen from the surface....nothing is really hooking me into really giving it a go. If you do watch it, please let us know your thoughts.
Wow… I honestly hadn’t considered that maybe the fans of NCIS themselves would be upset. I just thought of fans of h50, ya know?
I did actually watch 10 mins of the pilot for NCIS. So far nothing is hooking me, just like you said. I found the episode sorta boring, and it doesn’t feel much like a pilot honestly.
I’m trying my best to not compare it to h50, but the pilot episode for that showed us John dying, and explosions all in the first few minutes. And there’s family involved and background on characters. I liked seeing a character having motivation, like wanting to find who killed his father. And someone being divorced and having a daughter who he’d do anything for. There’s substance to it. While NCIS: Hawaii just feels a bit bland. And I feel like i’m being harsh now… but it’s my honest opinion.
And thank you! I appreciate you leaving an ask and telling about what you saw on Facebook. Have a good day, anon. ❤️
