“It’s Been An Adventure, Mr. Fredricksen.”
“Adventure Is Out There!”
Someone asked me to post these two companion pieces together so it was easier to reblog them.

Anyone posting their traders on tumblr anymore?
Just updated my traders in instagram, and I'm wondering if people are still trading on tumblr. :)
If any of you trade disney pins on instagram, I'm @lelalovespins

How do you go about starting traders? I feel guilty for buying them at Disney because I could be spending money on ones I want to keep, but I'm kind of afraid to buy them online. Thanks!
(I’m sick so this is going to be unusually sharp for me. My brain is foggy jelly pain.)
So, the sad truth is, it’s all about how much money you want to spend. Cause this hobby, as much as I love it, is financially difficult.
When I first started buying traders, I was spending a few hundred dollars on eBay, only buying sealed booster packs. That worked for me at the time.
Now, if I had no traders at this current moment, I don’t think I’d go that way. My current collection is large enough that what I’m starting to look for the most is Limited Edition pins. So things are even more expensive than they used to be.
If your collection is small, maybe some boosters is a good option. I’d check out instagram or here to see what people want. From my experience, the most collectable pins are frozen, little mermaid, beauty and the beast, some pixar, and princesses. (And nightmare, and alice, and a billion other things.) I would avoid buying pins with mickey on them, and I would avoid buying hidden mickeys.
If you are looking to buy on eBay, I would religiously look up negative feedback on the sellers, and if there is even ONE, just one, about fake pins, I can pretty much guarantee they’re all fake. Maybe at first only buy from 100% positive. Sadly, thats still not a guarantee they’ll be real, but being able to tell whats real and not comes from experience. I have multiple tabs on my side bar all about eBay sellers I trust and how to spot fakes, check them out.
So, when I go to the parks, I buy the pins I can’t live without, and leave the ones I’m okay waiting to trade for. And I buy all limited edition pins I think will be tradable.
I would also maybe find a seller you like on eBay who sells real pins for about $2-5 each, and buy individual open editions you think people will want. Actually, yeah, thats my advice. Be wary on eBay, but it is the cheaper option than disney directly. Try to buy individual pins all from the same seller at the same time to save on shipping.
Hope that helps! :)
