i want a regression room. i want walls painted in soft colours, paper stars hanging from the ceiling. i want a bookshelf with my little books, and wooden train tracks. i want soft blankets and pillows and a space to lay on the floor. i want a dollhouse and toys and so many stuffies. i want windows that let in so much sunshine, sunshine that makes all the colours in my room shine. i want colouring books and crayons and a play kitchen, i want a shelf with my pacis and bottles. i want a space that always feels safe and warm and sunny.

Tips for Autistic regressors! 🍼

By an autistic regressor these tips are based in things that help me personally and might not apply to every autistic regressor!

Sensory experiences sometimes help me regress, think toys that squeak and colorful baths! Sensory objects you might not have experienced nearly as much since childhood

Make it routine to regress, set specific times and dates aside because sometimes doing it without can make it harder to slip!

Stacking or organizing things is just as fun! Blocks and legos are your biggest friend

It doesn’t make you less little to spend time alone, or parallel playing - Speaking of which! parallel play with your CG/Babysitter/Friends ect

If your special interest isn’t seen as “for kids” that doesn’t matter, you can enjoy it while regressed or not!

Chew bracelets and necklaces are super cute! So is any other stim jewelry! Buy teethers for tiny you they’re great for stimming!

You can buy kids cups with shakers / water & glitter, in them for stimming!

Don’t feel obligated to play pretend or make believe or have an imaginary friend, if that isn’t something you want to do!

If you’re more interested in logical things, download word game apps or unpacking / sorting games!

If you like reading, you can find free books online or visit your local library for a playdate ! (Parallel play things again)

If sippy cups and pacis dont make you feel tiny, maybe try an item you have an attachment to instead! (Long term blanket/stuffy/notebook/figurine ect!)

Clean your toys! Brush them, change their clothes, do their hair! Sort them by size, type, color, maybe even name!

You’re regression doesn’t need to fit the standards of “normal kid / regression stuff” to be valid, do it however you want to! You’re regression is valid.
