I might be far off but the old and new Homuras don’t look like they’re looking at Madoka, but at eachother instead. The new Homura is looking at the old Homura, who has a sad, yet almost determinated looking expression on her face (I assumed she was crying at first) while the new Homura has an understanding expression, as if they’re communicating their emotions without words. The new Homura is almost getting reminded of the old one’s desperation to save Madoka when she “died” in the first timeline. This feels like it’s extremely far off so I apologise if it is!!
