"Evie, hi!" she greeted the woman warmly when she'd run into her by chance. "I was just going to grab myself a coffee. Do you have the time to join me? I'd love the company."

The room was filled with the rhythmic clicks coming from the sewing machine and the occasion groan of displeasure from the woman when she got the stitching incorrect and had to go back on her design. "I know, M– I'm sorry," came Piper's delayed reply, finishing off the line of stitching she had been running through the machine until properly acknowledging Merle's presence. "I just can't seem to get this garment right– it's driving me nuts," she explained as though it would justify why she'd shut herself away all day. "Unrelated?" Piper seemed reluctant given how absorbed by the design she seemed to be. "What did you have in mind, M?"

Merle carefully tiptoed through the materials on the floor in Piper's room, making sure to spot any loose pins amongst the garments. "P, you've been in here for hours," she said, a concerned tone to her voice. "How about we take a break from using the sewing machine and do something entirely unrelated, yeah?" the brunette commented.

"Do you guys have like a Whatsapp group or somewhere where you can all chat together?" Piper asked. "Maybe you could pop something up there and see if anyone has the skills and wants to offer their services or something," she suggested with a little shrug. "Like where I work we have one and there's this lady who sells her baked good on the side. Someone commissioned a birthday cake from her once."

"You'd think that Gucci might have an in-house nail tech. I'm sure someone in the building has the skills but they aren't hired to do it," Octavia replied, laughing, "I am nothing if not a girl-boss."

"I'm sure she'll appreciate that," Piper replied with a smile. "But getting something more specific will show even more thought, like you said," she then nodded. "Have you got anything particular in mind maybe?"

"Yes, someone special." Orlando spoke with a chuckle. He would have had to be pretty obtuse to miss the curiosity in the words. "Maybe I should just take her out shopping then. I just thought it might be a nice surprise to just bring something back for her." He explained. "But a day out shopping would be a nice way to spend time with her too."

"That's just not how I work when it comes to friends. And especially if they've gone out of their way to plan something for me," Piper assured him with a warm smile, noticing him shift awkwardly but wanting him to feel secure in knowing that Bes and what he did for her mattered a lot. She was not someone who took things or people for granted. "Well thank you for that 'nothing'. It certainly meant something to me," she stated. "Now let me get you a drink that wasn't made by me as a token of my thanks," she encouraged as she looped her arm in his and pulled him along to the bar.

"I just mean it might not have been your thing or there was a chance you would have had other ideas about how to spend your birthday. Lucky for me, you didn't though." He answered with a little grin, rubbing the back of his neck in a slightly awkward manner. "Ah, it was nothing. I always like doing things for my friends."

"That's really so nice. Most people would dream to have that," she commented with a soft laugh. "Understandably so! Especially since your work is so reliant on everyone's presentation. Plus I'm sure it just makes you feel extra girl boss-esque."

"I know right. I can basically do it in my lunch break if it's just for infill or a broken nail," Tav replied, grinning, "I couldn't believe my luck. I'd hate to be at work with bad-looking nails."

"I always carry spares," she assured her sister with a smile. "Yeah, we did," Piper nodded. "I thought it was a fun idea for an event and all," she added. "How about you, Si? Did you have fun?"

"Thanks," Sienna replied, taking the tablets. "Who knows, maybe you had used them this morning or something." Sienna let out a small laugh. "Did you and Merle enjoy the party?"

"I figured you would– especially with how you'd be dancing in this and everything," she nodded, a laugh escaping her as the blonde spoke about why she liked the fabric so much. "It is, isn't it? The color shift is so unique and it'll look even better under the lights," Piper added. "So I'm guessing this is a winner for you then, yeah?"

"Well, we do love a stretchy fabric in this house." Elara commented, watching as the other pulled at the fabric to show off it's capabilities. "Though I think I was already sold on it because of the colour, and the slight shimmer. Not to be a magpie about it." She chuckled. "It could have been the stiffest fabric in the world and I'd still try and dance in it because it's giving Sleeping Beauty vibes with the pink and blue ombre effect."

"What on earth do you mean, Bes?" she replied, almost offended by his choice of words. "Of course I was 'willing to go'. You planned all of that for me for my birthday. Do you really think I'd be ungrateful of that?" Piper valued everything that people did for her, especially thoughtful things like the activities he'd planned. "Thank you for going to all the trouble of sorting that out for us to enjoy, Bes. You're the best."

"Apparently so." He was willing to give her that after the afternoon that they had just had, still riding the high of it all. It had been fun for him too, even if the day wasn't something that was supposed to be a gift for him to enjoy. "Thank you for being willing to go with me on todays activities though."

"Someone special?" Piper pried lightly with a curious smile appearing upon her lips. "I can understand that completely though," she then sympathized when he spoke about not wanting to get the friend's style wrong. "Sometimes getting a gift card or taking them out for a shopping trip is the better alternative to make sure they get something they'll definitely wear."

"And the effort shows, truly." He admitted with a little smile. "I was thinking about a friend when I came in here but now I realise that it is probably not my forte. I might know them but their style is probably not something I can hope to get right." He admitted with a chuckle. "Maybe I should stick to something simpler instead if I feel the urge to gift them something."

"That sounds like so much fun," Piper chirped in response to the brunette inviting her to a possible mani-pedi outing sometime soon. "And so convenient for you. You can just pop in there every other week or so to touch up, no problem."

"Oh yeah, there's this little place right next to Gucci. Pretty decently priced so I thought I'd treat myself for Valentine's Day," Tav explained, looking down at her nails and then smiling up at Piper, "I'll treat you to it sometime. Little mani-pedi trip would be so fun."

"They were actually a gift from Bes," she explained when Merle was clearly dumbfounded, asking for details. "But yes, they are. Stupid expensive. I double checked with him only about a billion times to make sure but he seemed pretty adamant that he was sure about the gift," Piper elaborated. "Surely they have to let you. Like you said, you basically never take time off. Besides, this is important."

Merle opened and closed her mouth several times as she tried to form the words to adequately express her surprise. "How?" was all she could muster. "Aren't they stupid expensive?" the brunette said after a few more moments. "I've barely taken any time off so far so I'll see what they say. I'm going to fight hard for it though, don't you worry, P."

"Listen– I've got a gift when it comes to figuring out different things that compliment one another. Looks like it's not just colors, patterns and fabrics. My talents translate to mixology too," Piper snorted lightly, also rather clearly feeling buzzed after all the sampling she'd been doing during their cocktail class. "I'm pretty dedicated to the one I'm on right now, but I suppose it wouldn't be such a bad alternative," she entertained with another laugh.

"I have to say, I'll be making that drink for everyone who comes to my home in the future. Miss Wilkinson, fashion is definitely not the only thing you are good at creating. You may have a second calling if you ever want to try a new career path." Bes spoke with a bright laugh, clearly already high on both alcohol and the events of the day as he spun the woman around.

"I just said I did silly– I don't go anywhere without them honestly," she said, reaching into her bag to fish out a tablet blister. Piper handed it over to her sister, "Help yourself. Nobody should go through the splitting pain that comes with a hangover but especially not my sister."

"Merlin, please tell me you have some on you right now," Sienna said. "I need to pick some more up. I go through them have the time when I have to deal with the mandrakes at work."

"Music to my ears. I faff about that display all the time but Valentine's is my favorite time of year so I feel like I put some of my best work into it," Piper grinned, then realizing she was trailing off passionately when he had most definitely not asked. "Well, have a browse and let me know if there's anything I can do for you. Sometimes not every color or size is out on the racks so I can always check in the back for you."

Orlando pushed back some of the hangers on the rails as he looked along the belongings, glancing up with a smile as one of the workers offered up their assistance. "I don't think so, no. I happened across the shop and found myself wandering in here thanks to the window display. I thought I'd just have a look around. You're not in my hair though, don't worry." He wasn't the type to be bothered about things like that.

"I was thinking this one would be better because the material's stretchier and will be more comfortable for you to move around in," Piper explained, pulling the fabric to show off its properties to the blonde. "What do you think?"
