Since Plural Pride Day and Moon Landing Day fall on the same date, I have decided that the Moon is plural. Yep, that's right. The Moon is a median system and each of her phases is a different headmate. Aren't we all so lucky to have a celebrity so open and proud to be herself and show off all her headmates' individual styles? We should appreciate her more

Just DID things: can I even trust my own memories to be real? Am I sure I'm not just making things up? Things weren't actually that bad, right?

i feel like something a lot of a ppl need to understand with DID is that it’s an extremely internal experience and, most of the time, isn’t as clean-cut as it is portrayed. sometime switches can be simple and feel possessive, as one alter enters and one alter leaves, but in other times it can feel like the slow and swaying liquid inside of a lava lamp. everything can mesh together and cause even more dissociation/confusion as a reaction, leading to not knowing who is exactly fronting and even how many. every system is different, but this is always the worst for us.

One thing I really fucking hate about DID is how my sense of time is permanently fucked up due to amnesia/dissociation. While I can sometimes recall events in basic detail, I will never be able to accurately recall WHEN something happened, and my estimation is usually WAAAAY off. 

Things that happened a week ago feel like they happened a month ago. 

Things that happened a month ago feel like the happened several months ago

Things that happened a year ago feel like they happened 3 or more years ago

And that’s if I even remember what in particular happened in the first place.

reasons we didn’t tell you we switched:

we thought it’d be obvious

we assumed you’d be annoyed or mad

we’re used to pretending it didn’t happen

we think it’s an awkward thing to bring up

NOT reasons:

we don’t trust you

we think you’ll lash out

we don’t want you to know

it’s just a second nature thing for our system and i’m assuming a lot of others to not make a big deal of it. we switched to a little the other day and him and i both assumed who we were speaking with could tell it wasn’t me anymore since our voice, personality, and about everything else changed. it’s also a weird thing to bring up in the middle of a convo, “by the way i’m a different person oops”. if you know about someone’s system of course they trust you, but that system probably has had to hide a LOT.
