Small life update

One of the most saddest things I have to question in this decade, is whether or not a media i see (art, video, writing etc) is AI. I don’t wanna doubt the art i see, but it’s getting to the point where I can’t just easily point out ai, just some time ago I thought an art of my mutual was ai as it resembled something ChatGPT would make.

I hate that ai has gotten this good, I hate that it’s good in copying art styles. I hate it, I hate it so much.

Whenever I’m designing a character, one thing I must ask myself is, is this design purely a joke or do I lock the fuck in.

If I already know what I envisioned a character to look like, then I don’t need to ask myself that question. But if there’s another problem, if I lock in and for the design and nailed it, I need to color them. Now that’s a doozy, because a there’s a 95% chance that I ragequit because the colours are too ugly, and a 5% chance that I love it.

And for the joke characters, well I just design them with a pun in mind, like for Freyr’s design. I needed to figure out what color his outfit was, and after thinking of some fruits, I decided on the dragonfruit. Ever since that, one of his favourite things is a dragonfruit.

Then there’s character where I don’t even ask my question and just design on a whim. Like for Idunn for example. If I find the design too funny then I’ll barely change it. And I’m also really stubborn in changing a design much. All of these of my core character designing.

Just little update, I have a job now!

I’m currently typing this in my lunch break so expect me not to draw for a bit as I’ll be busy:)

The whole reason why I like him is the mere fact is how underrated he is, we have nothing on him besides this picture and another one. Not even a personality we know about, so really, it’s up to you to depict him until more is revealed. And because of that, I treat him like my own Oc basically. Since nobody, and I mean NOBODY love this man more than I.

His wife is also a comfort of mine but DLH Odr tops her because of the reasonings above. Though I’d relate to Freyja about leaving her homeland, don’t know if it’s implied that she doesn’t like Asgard but if she does, I’d relate to that too. I don’t personally feel like Iceland is my home a lot.

When he and Freyja married eachother, it started off a bit rocky since Odr was convinced Freyja only married him just to entertain herself, when in reality, she was truly in love with him. And the thought of children always lingered in their minds. Freyja wanted them almost immediately but Odr didn’t, and she respected his decision. She waited a few more years before asking him again if he wanted children, hence this art. After some thought, Odr agreed. Mostly because of societal pressure and his family insistence of having children.

After the girls were born, Odr’s mood slightly improved, but not that much. But it was something.

Odr and Loki met during the Æsir-Vanir war (more commonly known as the Norwegian-Swedish war that lasted about 2-3 years) Odr was a foot soldier, so was Loki but he often tasked with taking fallen soldier’s dog tags and digging out new trenches for the army. They bonded after Loki spotted Odr writing in his diary and pestered him into talking.

Loki often asked Odr to help him write letters back to his wife, Sigyn who was waiting for him back at Asgard (fictional city in Norway) and any earnings Loki earned, he’d most of it back to her. But that wasn’t his main priority either, Loki also looked for his missing daughter, Hel. Who went missing 7 years prior. All he knew was that he opened her bedroom door and she wasn’t there.

The war left scars on all who participated, most especially Odr who has one on his nose, plus seeing the horrors of war made Odr who he is. Loki was left mostly unharmed as he barely saw any real combat. And bc of all these horrors, Odr began to write even more, many short stories about the war and some that are metaphors for the war. He also gained a hatred for the elites as they didn’t do much besides sitting on top of their palaces or high houses and watched as the lower class fought for their lives. Often criticising them in his books.

As you know, Freyja is a noble and didn’t actively fight in the war, but she did help make propaganda flyers for Sweden (Vanaheim is the fictional capital of Sweden, so is Asgard for Norway) her family and her only moved to Norway because it had more industrial power than Sweden. But because she was of high class and extremely beautiful, many noble men would ask her hand in marriage, but her father Njörd allowed his daughter to have the free will of choosing her partner. And she chose Odr because he was so utterly pessimistic and pathetic that she fell for him. And she half hardly bribed him by promising to fund his job as a writer.

Random fact of mine but Loki when he first met Sigyn and Idunn had the hots for both of them. But couldn’t choose who to go after and potentially court. So he went over and tested who’d be the least likely to kick him in the balls. Sigyn won that test and the rest was history.

P.S, It took about 30 seconds for Idunn to kick him in the balls. Not because of how Loki acted or talked but because Idunn disliked gingers.

This is set somewhere in the 1900s, don’t know if it’s in between 1900s-1940s. Odr is a struggling writer who can barely get his novels and books released without them getting completely ignored or his self hatred making him unable to publish anything. Not to mention one of his old pals, Loki tanked one of his book sales and that spiralled him into a further depression.

He at least has a wife, Freyja. Daughter of a wealthy family known for their beauty industry and railroad productions. She only married her because he needed a wife and Freyja was the only one willing to marry him since she is madly in love. She finds his utter lack of self esteem, self loathing and pessimism extremely attractive.

Not to mention his twin daughters whom adore him. He tries to hide his pessimism went they’re around. And his travels he does, is just to find inspiration to write another novel.

Here’s a rant about June (specifically the posts I see around it)

The one thing I despise when June rolls around is the amount of posts of people complaining about June being pride month and saying June is only about men’s mental health or veterans month (this one I can’t remember if it was in may or June) or something similar, cause I grant you that they didn’t care UNTIL June came, now they all of a sudden cared about Men’s mental health/veterans.

Sorry, I didn’t know seeing two boys kiss gave you a stroke. If you see June as just June then see it as June. If you don’t wanna celebrate pride month then don’t. Nobody is fucking forcing you to do so. If you want to celebrate the other things that June host, then do. That’s up to you. But don’t throw a tantrum about pride month. Because shocker! The two can both co-exist. It’s people like you who make that vision impossible.

Sorry for that rant, it’s just really tiring to see this shit on your feed.
