Jaime and Bart’s relationship in season 2 is so funny to me because Jaimes just going around superheroing, minding his business until this small speedy child springs out of another century and tells him he’s about to be the cause an apocalypse that will destroy everyone’s lives. So naturaly Jaime is horrified by this and is doing what any average person would do, freaking the fuck out and Barts just there tryna have picnics with Jaime and drawing amazingly accurate pictures of himself in the dirt.

#it's because the 'curse' bart gives him is one of jaime's first major traumas in his life (after being forcibly integrated with khaji da)#whereas even with holding that curse and the entire world's future over his head #it's implied that bart's the least imminently stressed he's been in his entire life so far #bro's on a field trip with a possible apocalypse at the end might as well chillax be gay n pig out in this era of comparative extravagance #in that way they're both kinda the opposite of their natural/default emotional state in s2 #jaime being so stressed and quick to anger vs bart's mask of carefree idiocy to hide his future-past self to preserve the timestream #UGH I LOVE THEM they're so compelling
