the la'gaan spoilers combined with being reminded of 'talk fast' makes me want a messy as hell bluepulse fic where some years down the line jaime and bart are each other's accidental rebounds after things fall apart, fully expecting it to ruin everything but they're both really fucked up over their previous relationships (mostly ending related to hero life and stress and their shared trauma that they both shoved down and refused to confront) and are desperate for comfort.

like the leaders of the teams and the League and their closest friends fully know what's going on and everyone's waiting for a full on explosion, expecting the worst that just... never comes. they both fall deeper and deeper in love with each other while convinced it's just physical and that they're both just using each other (angsty self loathing and mutual pining, babyyyy).

in my heart they end up surprising everyone after they finally blow up at each other on a mission out in Vegas and are forced to work through their shit during an extremely life threatening situation (a la the mission from the JLTAS episode "Wild Cards" where Joker plants bombs around the city) except... they just end up figuring out they don't ever want to live without each other and end up married in Vegas, fueled on adrenaline and catharsis

my "modern" (which has far too many 2000s sad bops to even be called that) bluepulse playlist that i started in 2019 and continue to update crossed 100 songs this week. i just wanted to post this for anyone who may be in search bc i know first hand it can be hard to find music to write to when most of the mixes are from 2013-2016. feel free to let me know if you'd like a spotify version, more than happy to throw that together for y'all :)
