16 year old Mikayla Miller was killed by 5 white teenagers and her body was strung from a tree. Despite this obviously being a racist, homophobic hate crime (Miller had broken up with her girlfriend a while before) the Hopkinton, MA police station refused to do a proper investigation or file a report. When Mikayla’s mom questioned the police, they threatened to release Mikayla’s sexuality to the press.

Attention all gifmakers, some of your gifs are compressing in size on upload. After a lot of experiments, @alivedean and I, figured out that it's only affecting gifs that are 4mb, 5mb, 6mb, and 7mb. Anything that's bigger does compress, and anything smaller than 3mb does not compress.

We don't know if it is a temporary glitch or not. Please try reaching out to tumblr if you can. If you want to see if it is happening to you, our suggestion is to download one of your old gifs (that are 4, 5, 6, or 7mb) and re-upload and save it in drafts. If they compress, the glitch is happening to you and going forward you should be mindful of what sizes to use. Either they need to be huge or they need to be tiny, there's no in-between anymore.

Please signal boost this. There's so many talented creators on the site and we don't want any of them to work hard and then realize their gifs don't look as good.
