I remember the white bulging out from his eyes as he squeezed the life out of me with his bare hands. Harder and harder was the pressure around my neck; my peripherals, blinded. I was in shock, utter disbelief. I thank God when he pushed me against that wall in my bathroom and I hit the toilet, my Comedy Central martini glass shattered onto the floor. I guess it scared him because he ran off with his dog. I filed a report, but nothing happened. Today, he gets to walk this Earth freely, pretending like he's this amazing guy and everyone believes it. He gets to sign your kids' autographs at Comic-Con and people still hire him to do voiceovers.  What a world.  I woke up this morning triggered. Triggered by that event. That was eight years ago. Triggers are important to identify, especially if you live with them daily. I am truly blessed and beyond grateful for therapy, the support from the friends I can count on one hand that never left me and my boyfriend, J. It's just so sad that this all had to be a movement.
