Your snarky, intelligent, funny, kind, and handsome. I may have had a bit of a crush on you at one point (no one can resist that voice) but I'm working to get over it, so don't worry. Your probably the best CMO in Starfleet and it's an honor to be working with you.
A crush? On me? Have you had a check-up recently? Still, s'nice to hear all of that, thank you Yeoman. Having capable staff like you around certainly makes me feel better about this voyage.

"I did mean parts of the ship, but..." The eyebrow shoots back up as her hand comes in contact with his chest, fingers stretching out over the blue fabric. He's not sure what to make of this, or of her. Patients have gotten handsy before but they had the excuse of being either intoxicated or under the influence of behaviour altering medication. He brings his hand up flowly, wrapping his fingers around her wrist. "Same goes for me. I just met you after all."

“That’s…very strange. And I’ve heard some pretty bizarre things,” the eyebrow goes back down and a frown begins to settle on his features. Though it does ease up and he does his best to give her a smile. “But don’t worry. While you’re on this ship I won’t let anyone do ya harm. As long as you keep yourself out of trouble and don’t go touching anything.”

“Well, I didn’t wander …” She bites off her words at the incredulous look on the doctor’s face. It’s clear she’s already gotten someone into trouble, although how much and why she isn’t certain, and she’d rather not implicate anyone else. “Yes, I suppose that I am. I’d like to avoid being roughed up today.” Fell attempted a smile, halfway hoping he returned it even though she knew she’d probably melt if he did. The topic of her skills in getting away from brutes is avoided like the plague; claiming to be something more than human is probably a good way to be written off as a nutter. “I fell asleep in my home in Colorado,” she replies, “and I woke up here.”

"Just wandered in?" An eyebrow steadily climbs up his forehead. The men down in the cargo hold would get a stern talking to after the captain recieves his soon to be written report. None of those meat-heads could keep an egg safe. "Then you're lucky that I got to you before security did. They wouldn't be as friendly as I am." Not that he's the cuddliest man in the first place. Something that doesn't escape his notice is the way that she can't quite meet his eye. McCoy fixes her with a look, leaving off mentioning it for now. "Where did you come from?"

His voice reminds her of honey, thick and cool and purely southern, and it sends a small tremor down her spine. “Stowaway?” Her gaze flickers back to his as a mantra (donotmeltdonotmelt) runs through her mind on repeat. “I couldn’t really say if I am or not. I don’t remember boarding the ship, just coming to in what looked like a cargo area.” The fact that she’s in a medbay neither soothes nor worries her; two main points need her attention: when she is and how she got there, and figuring out the best way to keep this handsome stranger talking.

"Another stowaway? Brilliant. Seems Jim's started a trend," his hand returns to his hip after she releases it, cocking his head as he regards her curiously. He's lost count of the people who've wandered like lost lambs into his med bay, thankfully when it wasn't crowded or when he was working. Finding themselves stuck on a spaceship lightyears from Earth is a reasonable cause for panic and he needs his hands free to talk them down. The red on her face is something else though. "You're in a medbay, darlin'. There's no need to worry."

Perhaps more confused than she is, the doctor stares back at the young woman in front of him and debates on whether or not he should offer his hand. He’s not sure what to make of her silence, though by her stance he knows she’s no threat to him. To bring some sort of response out of her, McCoy lets his lips stretch into a rare grin and extends a hand towards her. “Hey there. Doctor McCoy. And you are?”

Curious hazel orbs take in the man in front of her, mind temporarily ignoring the larger problems of where she was an how she’d come to be there; dressed in a blue tunic and simple black pants, he could have passed for mundane if not for the uncanny wisdom in his eyes and the calm assurance with which he held himself. Unsure of the proper greeting, and never quite good with those things, anyway, she remains silent, continuing to observe this new stranger.

I would torture and tease you mercilessly in hopes of getting to hear that sexy southern voice of yours. I'd ride you like there was no tomorrow.
You sound like my kind of girl. Or guy. Hell I don't know what you are, you have no face.

Finally, someone speaking some sense around here. -He slips and gives her the smallest of smiles before he catches himself and covers it up with a pessimistic grunt- Before I was shackled to that she-witch I believed that marriage was supposed to be a thing of happiness. Family home, car, wife, kids. All that you could hope for. Now I know that's just a load of bull. The only good thing that came out of that relationship was my daughter. Precious thing. -His scowl begins to soften around the edges- The Captain shouldn't be playing by his own rules. That's what regulations are for. You two would get on like a house on fire though, I can tell just by lookin' at ya.
Ah, sorry to hear it. I’ve never seen much point in marriage, myself. A piece of paper and a couple rings are unnecessary when two people are truly committed to one another. [She’s never been married, just had an engagement that had gone sour, and turned her off the idea of weddings even over a century later. That almost-union had produced her son, though, and so she couldn’t find it in herself to resent it completely. Even when the thought of her boy put an ache in her chest.] Sounds like the good Captain plays by his own rules. I like that. I’ve never been one to do what I’m supposed to, myself.
