Nico coming up and telling Percy that he "wasn't his type" was one of the most stupid thing Rick ever wrote. Percy had nothing to do with Nico's journey of self actualization outside of the pedestal he put Percy on and to flip it on Percy like he was the crux of the problem is stupid because Percy was never Nico's problem; Nico's problem was always his own bitter insecurity. This line wasn't an awareness of this, it was saying its okay I can put someone else on a pedestal now instead.

its such a shame that this fandom is too busy woobifying Nico to acknowledge that legitimately Percy didn't do anything wrong or bad to Nico. Nico constantly took his misplaced anger out on Percy for no real reason at all.
