/She grinned./ I've learned that it can be good to stay optimistic, Natasha, even though people think you dim on occasion.
Say, Natasha is a Northern European name, is it not?

Lily watched Ganesha tumblr around and chase the flies that thrived in the uncomfortably hot weather. She became lost in thought about what she should do next, but was soon pulled from her own mind by a cool, familiar voice coming from a figure she had not noticed before. Her hat was clenched tight in her hands as she looked up at her former captain.
"E-Eloise," she stuttered, but continued to reply in as calm a fashion as possible. "I did not expect you here. No, Ganesha doesn't like it much here, but I do what I can." The ferret scampered up beside Lily, and she put her hand on him.
Lily wandered the streets of Spain, browsing shops she knew she could not buy from (but could easily steal from). She was wearing a plain, white summer dress and a wide-brimmed sunhat that mostly covered her face. So far she had successfully hidden herself from Spanish bounty hunters by disguising as an English lady on vacation on the coast of Spain. Of course, that wasn’t true. In reality she was a penniless ex(?)-pirate who had floated here on a small boat with the help of a mermaid. Obviously she wasn’t going to tell anyone that—she would be easily hunted and killed for her crimes.
She could feel Ganesha, her ferret, stirring on top of her head. She had to keep him under her hat, because it is not typical for ladies to be walking around with un-caged ferrets. Much less ladies who were supposed to be on vacation. She had nowhere to leave him, so he had to hide. But the Spanish sun was hot, and Ganesha was not accustomed to sitting still for hours on end. Every so often, Lily had to find some abandoned alley so she could let him run around for a bit. It seemed like a good idea to do that now…besides, even she was eager to hide in the shade of a building, if even for a few minutes. So she walked around a bit more before finding a decently empty area, sitting and leaving Ganesha free to run around.

Is anyone still here for me to talk to? It's getting dull.

I am most certainly on the run. I've got bounties on my head in nearly every country I have visited, including here in America. People won't expect me here, though. The last time I stole here was...hmm, perhaps the 1920s? It is difficult to keep track of such things.
I cannot recall any museums I have robbed in the past or the future, but I'm sure it has happened at some point.
Any time past 2000 in America is a safe haven for me, Mr. Parker. Unless I begin to steal again.
In a sense. I travelled through time, but I was not the one controlling it.
I do not travel any more, though. That was in the past.

Lily's Dilemma
She had forgotten how tiring it was. How exhausted she would get by the end of the day. The hot Spanish sun burned her skin, which only made it worse. She hated acting proper, like she used to. To make it worse, she had left behind her escape from it all. She had left Eloise. She never realized how much she needed her best friend until she was gone. Lily was slowly realizing that this was the worst decision of her life, but she believed that there was no turning back. She could not undo her mistakes. She had to carry on, and let the hot Spanish sun burn her skin.
When time runs out and your heart needs to say so much more
But the heart that should hear it is gone now forever
And you are left with a raw nagging sore
-Excerpt from Alice Wyndham's poem Drain Your Soul of it's Deepest Regret

I just wander. There are a few different ways of time travelling, but they are difficult to find and even more difficult to control. I normally abstain from using them, but every so often I discover a bounty hunter or someone has been on my trail and I have no choice but to flee to a different country or time.
In a sense. I travelled through time, but I was not the one controlling it.
I do not travel any more, though. That was in the past.

Ah, yes…my accent makes it quite plain I am English, doesn’t it? I am not accustomed to America. Or this century.

Oh, the 1940s? I was in the 1940s once, but not for very long. I did not get to experience much, I was too busy running.
Try about a century earlier, though.

/Lily nodded, even though she had no idea what a “wiz” or a “junior” was. She obviously wasn’t spending enough time in this century./
So, do you do have an occupation, Mr. Parker?

Eloise murmured an agreement in Spanish to the vendor she was talking to and handed over the agreed price. She really actually didn’t care about what she was buying, nor the price. She was currently filthy rich with Spanish gold. What she did care about was the person she was currently stalking following. Lily Young. Her blonde, chipper former first mate and former best friend. It had been pure luck that Eloise had found her, and pure skill that she’d been able to follow her for this long. Now, just to find her alone…

So, I have been in Spain for a while now. I am not sure what to do now. I know I cannot go back to England, I would be executed. Even if I was not killed, my parents would disown and shame me if they did not die of grief after I left. I am running out of options.
I suppose I can stay here for a month or two. My hair has grown out, so I will not be recognized. I believe there is a bounty on my head here, but it shall be all too easy to disguise myself as an English tourist.
Ganesha has to hide in my hat. He probably gets very warm during the day, the poor thing.
Besides, Fish likes the waters here. And I, my self, am finding that I enjoy the food.
