Its literally fine to miss parts of the Internet that have faded into obscurity and/or became obsolete that you liked, that's kind of what part of my blog celebrates. But at some point you need to realize when you're starting to experience nostalgia of an Internet that's never existed. There has never been an Internet that was completely safe for children or minorities, there's never been an Internet that's been free from phishing attacks and DDoSing, that never had to deal with poor moderation, or doxxing and swatting. There are pages from the 1980's that were full of hate speech and slurs, people insulting each other over a common interest or hobby, and it's horribly irresponsible to not at least acknowledge this part of the Internet's history.
As much as it sucks that the Internet isn't the same as it used to be, and in a lot of ways may be in worse repair than before, you cannot revise it's history.

most people going "i miss the early internet 😭" don't actually meaningfully miss it, they just are nostalgic for being 11 and having blinders on to the problems that existed at the time. like yeah the internet was fabulous in 2007 if you ignore all the phishing, hate speech, doxxing, malware, slow load + dl + upload speeds, lack of content moderation for said hate speech, etc.
