hi hi! i forget if i've asked this before but when reading your byf, what's "double book keeping delusions"? i've tried looking it up but couldn't find anything :[

delusional self-awareness. the knowledge that you as a psychotic person dont share the same reality as other people. the knowledge that you are delusional and your lived reality doesnt always make sense and you are alone in experiencing it

there's this idea that to truly be delusional you cant be aware whatsoever that you're alone in your reality. you HAVE to be screaming at everyone the world is ending because you dont know they arent part of it. that isnt true at all and this idea prevents delusional people from seeking community or help because they dont even know they "count".

the awareness is called double bookkeeping. you're keeping track of the shared social Reality and your own personal reality, aware and living in both

It occurs to me, looking through a bunch of DNI lists and carrds (although it has surely been observed before by others), is that what the people who make these want is not unreasonable per se. Rather, what they are asking for is unreasonable, because what they want is to not be using social media. They want to be using forums, or group chats, or instant messenger, or blogs; they want online communication spaces that are moderated, that are topic-specific, that are limited to existing/vetted members. And these this desire is not unreasonable, but it does not match modern social media.

And because so many of the people who make these seem so very young, I wonder how many of them even realize that spaces that do what they want can (and used to, and still somewhat do) exist, realize that social media can't do what they want it to, but that social media is not the only way for the internet to be.

Not an npd culture is, but i see a lot of people using the terms fp and ep but what do they mean?

FP = favorite person, which is basically just someone you have a VERY unhealthy attachment towards. Term is very often used in BPD spaces but it’s for any cluster B from what I’ve gathered. Favorite people make symptoms heightened.

EP = equal person, which is basically people someone with NPD sees as equal. From what I’ve gathered EP is an NPD exclusive term (willing to be corrected on this). Equal people make symptoms soften.

not proshipper not anti but a secret third thing (person who has a career in the media and, through covering legislative politics, has watched "associating with problematic fiction or entertainment is an indicator of moral degeneracy" rapidly become a mainstream GOP position that they are encoding in legislation to target the queer community under the guise of protecting children, thus coming to the conclusion that positioning the "can people enjoy things that would be immoral IRL in their fiction" debate as a proship v anti fandom debate is akin to pretending that "should we have the death penalty" is a discussion that only matters in Death Note discourse — the extent and manner to which fiction affects reality is an issue that is immediately relevant to today's US politics, and to summarize my opinions on the matter in fandom terms would be to diminish the ways this debate is affecting america Right The Fuck Now. and i have stopped taking "this person is bad for shipping the wrong anime thing and being horny about it" in any sort of good faith ever since I saw it literally used as part of a GOP smear campaign against a transgender state legislator in an attempt to defend the right from backlash after they used their supermajority in the Montana house to prevent her from speaking on the floor. Anyway I think everyone on this site, especially Americans, could benefit from ceasing to think in proship v anti vocabulary and instead developing coherent political positions on the nature of fiction that do not directly align with current fascist political tactics)

I have woken up in a strange place, with a strange face. I am Fabius Bile, this much I know, but much of my memory is missing. I know things that seem to be large and important but details are... murky, to say the least. I am not even certain I remember every major event in my life, since I would not know what was missing. I know that I frequently transfer myself to new bodies, but this sort of thing is abnormal.

A pooltoy with a plush friend is such an awesome dynamic. They both share a lot in common (synthetic, null, toys, no organs), but also have enough differences in their lives to make it interesting to talk about and support each other. The plush does not deflate but does understand how annoying it is to have a hole ripped in you and have your stuffing pour out. The pooltoy wishes it could move as quietly as their friend but the plush admires the ability the pooltoy has to announce its presence by loud vinyl squeaking. The plush can't swim. The pooltoy hates needles while the plush often needs them for self repair.

And yet they are making out sloppy style. Neither produce any kind of bodily fluid and the pooltoys mouth is entirely painted on but I promise if you saw them you'd say wow

Is anyone else kinda fascinated by the human race? I’m drinking soda and thinking, “wow, humans really do love these fizzy sugary drinks”. Taking care of plants that they have inside their own homes because they like them. Making soft safe versions of animals that they can cuddle. Creating different types of fabrics to express their style. And so much more.
