Weve been getting so many chapters thks week im kinda nervous but also its really nice to see how changho is very much what giryeo could have been. and i like how we get a callback to doyul, the very first human he met and had a positive with (minus giant ass bird). Nice full circle moment.

I THOUGHT SO TOO especially given how (realized everything i typed was major 515~ spoilers so i added a cut)

both changho and giryeo went through a truckload of trials and tribulations after landing on earth. but while changho stayed holed up all the time (thanks to MONEY) and thus never gave himself the chance to grow fondness for the earthlings around him, giryeo actively mingled with hunters and civilians alike (first for survival, but eventually because he simply cared for them). and i think the choices they made kind of mirror their time on alphauri. (the engineer purposefully chose a giant body to make others back away from him, while lemming always had a soft spot for small creatures despite his otherwise completely "cold" temperament)

and yeah the last time 대대원님 started posting extra chapters off schedule was just before a season end or hiatus, so i have a strong feeling we have a storm incoming either this week or next 🤨

Oof yeah the twitter users i follow is so upset right now and i feel for them but also im just. Relieved. Its an odd feeling seeing people upset and going oh thank god they dont want me dead. But yeah, it was really upsetting since ihfos is by all accounts a minority story about an immigrant helping others. And yknow this is a scifi story. With Aliens. no literally same... to be very candid, i honestly felt the sickest pit in my stomach this morning when i checked back on the comment i originally left on 516 after reading the edit notice and seeing users dogpiling me as well as every comment expressing how they (personally!!!) thought it was a pity the terminology was edited out. but seeing how different the reaction on twitter was gave me a strange sense of hope again, i assume for the same reasons as you. like wow, it really does mean the world sometimes to know we're not alone out here.

i just don't understand how those people made it over 500 chapters into ihfos and still clutch pearls over even a SUGGESTION of characters not adhering to conventional binary gender assignments. they're literally aliens. gender reassignment procedures and intersex identities existed even during alphauri's medieval era when lemming was alive.
