Paper.
A variety of paper types and thicknesses can be cut with a laser machine.  The level of detail can be intricate.

This is an example of laser cutting paper to create cupcake holders.  Sheets of A3 purple and indigo paper provide the base.

Whilst creating the patterns, care was taken to ensure the edge lines did not run too closely or intersect.  Edge separation is important to ensure the structure of the paper is not weakened.

The pattern is created on a vector programme, converted to DWG and translated through laser cutting software.

The pattern for the cupcake holder is particularly intricate.  The laser time was 7 minutes each approximately.  This time can be shortened by simplifying the graphic.

Curves are best laser cut in their true form with a set radius and not faceted.  Faceting curves results in many small lines that can increase laser time.
