Saint Florian Monastery: I had a blast with @avalonwaterways visiting the crypts of this monastery. And guess who’s buried down here? None other than Saint Florian who was born in 250 A.D. in present day Austria! That’s right, aside from his role in the Roman Army, he also organized and trained soldiers and assisted in firefighting brigades. He eventually became known as the Saint of Firefighters!! 🔥 #avalonad #gnomads /

Thousands of people travel from around the world 🌎 to see the St. Florian Monastery in Mauthausen, Austria 🇦🇹, which is less than 15 minutes away. This Monastery has an active Catholic church with a stunning organ. It has been in operation since 1071! And it is gorgeous! #avalonad #gnomads /

St.Florian Monastery in Sankt Florian, Austria -Who knew? @avalonwaterways knew! They knew exactly where to take us on their “Discovery Tour” of this magnificent Monastery! It was founded in the 9th century. It is among the most impressive Baroque architecture found in all of Austria. This is the entertaining wing in the South Wing. It is stunning! St.Florian gives Melk Abbey a run for its money 💰. Plus, no crowds!! #Avalonad #gnomads /

I had a wonderful time in Venice‘s city center where I attended a classical concert and opera. Vienna is the city of music, so if you come here you must attend some sort of classical music venue. You won’t regret it! #avalonad #ad /

#Travel: You know when you go on a #rivercruise tour, and you’re so happy you picked the right one? Well that’s what happened on this RETRO tour in Budapest with @avalonwaterways! First, they pull up in a Trabant (old East German cars) to take us to all the places that we would visit! Our stops were: Trabant Retro Lounge and Bar, Szimpla Kert (the oldest and most famous ruin bar in Buda), and Momento Park (where old Soviet statues go to die!) There was plenty to see, do, and photograph. It was a blast!! So be sure and choose this retro tour while sailing the Danube River! #avalonad #gnomads /

One last look at Fisherman’s Bastion at night before I leave Budapest and make my way to Vienna. The seven towers represent the seven tribes that settled in this area in 895. Odly enough, it was featured as a pitstop on the six season of The Amazing Race. The Amazing Race happens to be sponsored by @travelocity and I happen to be a Travelocity #Travel Ambassador! How ironic that I am here! #avalonad /

#Travel: On the Buda side of the Danube River in Budapest there’s a castle up on the hill surrounding the Matthias Church. This church is quite spectacular at night as it is lit up. With a Neo-Gothic and Neo-Romanesque style, it is quite beautiful and built between 1895 and 1902. Unfortunately, it was almost destroyed doing during World War II and had to have a major restoration. Also noticed the equestrian statue of Stephen the first of Hungary who is a mounted on a horse. #avalonad /

#Travel: I came to #Budapest for the @avalonwaterways river cruise 🚢 on the Danube River. I stayed one night at the @hiltonbudapest which was awesome and right beside the Fisherman’s Bastion. This allowed me to see it late at night and also early in the morning. I was curious to see what Avalon had to offer on the “active” and “discovery” excursions. These were very interesting to me in my later stages of life. I chose mostly active excursions, primarily for my health and to keep the weight off! I signed up for mostly bicycle 🚲 tours, but they also have canoeing 🛶, running🏃♀️, and walking 🚶 tours. I’ve also been enjoying bringing the outside in via my wall-to-wall and floor to ceiling window 🏞, creating an open-air balcony for me to view the 🌎 world as it passes by! #avalonad #gnomads /

#Travel: This is my last post from South America before I get ready to take off for Europe. Here I am sitting in the 0, from the word Santiago Which is located in Plaza de Armas in Chile 🇨🇱! What a great trip we had to Santiago seeing family and friends. I hope to get down there a lot more frequently in years to come. #gnomads #chilemoment /

Chile 🇨🇱 holds a special place in my heart ❤️. When I was young and in college I met my husband. Little did I know how he would change my life. He was actually born in Chile with an American Father and a Chilean Mother. He was an international traveler 🧳 by the time he was 3, living and traveling 🧭 around the world 🌍. But truly I think he was my inspiration to becoming what I am today. I was just a small town girl from the USA with little international experience. Look at me now! Thanks 🇨🇱! #gnomads /

The plaza de Armas is the main square of Santiago Chile 🇨🇱. The square was built in 1541 by a Spanish conquistador in the first royal governor of Chile! Today, it is packed with locals and tourists. It has remained the heart of the city with its beautiful structure surrounding it,some old some new. The buzz 🐝 around town is that they are trying to clean up the square and put in fancy restaurants to make it more hospitable to tourists. For many years it has been filled with vagrants and new immigrants. #Gnomads /

I love 💕 it when my husband gets to meet me while I’m traveling! This one taken in the gorgeous apartment of the late Chilean artist Sergio 👩🎨Castillo. It has a stunning view of the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes in Santiago, Chile. /

Iguazu Falls in #Argentina will take your breath away. The name comes from the local language and means “big water”. I love this photograph because of the slight rainbow 🌈 you can see above the water. It reminds me of Noah’s flood where God put the rainbow in the sky as a sign of his promise that he would never again destroy the earth with a flood. #yamputravel #gnomads #argentinamoments /

#Travel: Honestly, I was shocked at the sheer power of the water from this area of Devils Throat in Argentina. So when you visit, be prepared for the massive amount of water droplets in the air that will engulf you. I’ve always loved water and respected it, but the site of this water will blow your mind. #yamputravel #argentinamoments #loisuitesiguazu /
