I like the love story between America and Maxon, because it gives to the book a lot of emotion and drama, that keeps you reading and wanting more and more. This book leaves you with the desire of never ending the book.
At the end of the book the king and queen die, so my alternative ending will be less dramatic. I woulden’t kill the kings and less to one of the participants of The Selection (Celeste). My ending will be more exciting, like, there where the 3 finalist: America, Celeste and Lucy. The king wants that Maxon choose Celeste and the queen wants America, as well as Maxon.Maxon is so confused because he doesn’t want his father to be mad at him, but he doesn’t want to say goodbye to the love of his life, When he finally decide whom to marry, he decides tp keep his choise to himself and that everyone get to know at the same time. When he finally anounced he would be marrying America, the king decided to leave the castle and his wife because he was so angry, so Illéa couldn’t without a king, so Maxon and America rise to the throne and they live happily ever after.

If I could step inside the book I would enter in the part where America has to choose between Aspen and Maxon, I would be America and obviusly choose Maxon and forget about Aspen, because her love to Aspen affects her relationship with Maxon and makes her doubt about her affection to Maxon. This will change the story becaue scince the beggining, Maxon would have choose America as his wife withot doubting about America’s love and fidelity, This would skip all the problems they had because of America’s fidelity and it will also change a lot of where Aspen would be. Maybe he would never met America again and both (America and Aspen) forgot about each other and start a new life with their new lovers.

Politics: the prince and the king are involved because of all the issues they have in the country and with the rebels. I know about politics in my country but I’m not that involved like my parents are.
Love: the romance between America and Maxon and all the things they have to pass through and beside all they still love each other.

Most important event in the story
The prince Maxon and America, but mostly the prince, do a trade with the rebels of the story, Agust Illéa and Georgia Whitaker the leaders of the rebels asked to speak with Maxon and America in the palace. They told them that they were not out to destroy the monarchy, that they believed that Maxon was a very good man that would be a better king than his father was, and that America was the candidate that they backed up for being the princess. The only thing that they want was that Maxon promised that he would work to eliminate the caste system in orther to ease the people suffering and in exchange, they promised loyalty to their prince and protection.

America Singer is a very carefull girl, that loves her family and that worries about them. She is always looking for the best for her family no matter what. She loves singing so she is a singer, before being choosen for the Selection. America at the beggining doesn´t want to participate in the Selection and she starts with a very bad attitude, but when she finally starts falling in love with the prince, she starts changing her attitude and doing everything to stay with the prince.

Why do I choose this book?
I decide to read this book because of two reasons, I have read the books before this one (The Selection and The Elite) and they are very beautiful and with a super romantic love story and when I finish reading the Elite I could not wait to read The One and continue this beatuiful story. My second reason is because this type of books take me to another world where I can be whoever I want to be, is creative and very different to other books and because the book includes a lot of humor, action and a little bit of seriousness.

1. Kiera Cass is actually named Kiera because of the movie Xanadu that is a roller disco skating movie.
2. Kiera Cass had the idea of making “The Selection series” from a combination of the story of Esther from the Bible and Cinderella.
3. She is starting a new series, but it does not yet have a title, cover or release date.
4. When she goes on the road for book events, she collects all her hotel keys, she has collected like 30 keys in 2 years.
5. Kiera hates coffe and tea, but she likes hot chocolate.
