Hear me out: they spend a majority of season 1 being bitter, then viktor dies and mel is all like “shittttt wait he’s still kinda bad though, i should’ve said something :(” and then she runs into him again when he’s in the commune, and is all like “noooooo babe what happened to you :,(((((“ and then BAM!!!! tragedy.

𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐲: Viktor blanches. As if time, and Viktor himself, stop moving, screeching into a halt—the wordplay, the library, the closeness in their basin thereof: it holds a myriad of inklings and thinklings, all in which Viktor realizes the brazen play he's partaken in. Mel grins. Viktor stutters.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Day 3: Missing Scenes | Firsts.⠀⠀⠀LINK⠀.ᐟ

𝓞de to 𝒫hantoms and ℳaidens.

𝐑𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠: General Audiences.

𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐲: Mel kisses the back of Viktor’s hand with reverence, a tenderness that came with an awning—and Viktor shifts, stubbornly, despite it all. Amber hues flit and flutter, half-conscious and transparent of some opioid half life. Evergreen crashes into Ochre: brazen, bold, a bronco bulldozing into a cotillion and demanding its presence to be known. Viktor squeezes her palm with what little strength he can muster and grins– (If Mel shrieks here, she refuses to acknowledge it, but Viktor, long after the initial plague has passed, will adamantly call her out on it.) –and speaks. “You will live. As you always do. As you must.” Mel guffaws, the saturation where tears pearl at brims clinging to her lashes like dew on morning glories blinding her temporarily, “Will you at least haunt me, dear?”

𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐲: “We are due for a trip to the market, you know.” She says around her toothbrush, spittle and foam spit into the porcelain sink. She’s gentle to push Kamaria’s hand from grasping it, gaze flickering to Viktor’s frame from the mirror. Milan had taken to tug at Viktor’s robe again, this time harder than the last, amber eyne wide with glee. “Are we going shopp–ing, tati?” He whisper shouts, decidedly overjoyed at the idea. “Can I get a toy?” Viktor chuffs, head shaking, “If máma says yes,” He shrugs his shoulders, mindful of the sleeping infant resting on him, “perhaps.” It’s Mel’s turn to chuckle, rinsing out the last of mint from her mouth as Kamaria squirms in her arms, already growing tired of being unable to play with Mel’s toothbrush. “Mm, depends.”

She’s transfixed, almost bewildered by the unabashed staring she’s done within the last half hour alone, pencil held between idle digits as wandering gaze flit about each shadowshow in his nakedness, descending down the paths of his svelte frame and admiring the architrave and capital of his making. At some points, she believes him to glance back, amused and smarmy, but Mel brushes it off. It’s simply all a trick of the eye.
