A letter arrives to Melony's house. It's written on highly official-looking letterhead, and it says "Dear Resident: Please be advised that you may be called upon to testify at trial on a later date. You may be visited by investigators from the Crown Prosecution office. Please be ready to speak to them. There are legal consequences to obstruction of justice."

»»——⍟——»» She sighs. It was a matter of time. No doubt her little schism with Gordie painted her as a person of interest. What an awful way to see Gordie again.

Melony simply crumples up the paper and resumes her activities, making sure to be ready for when she’s called in.

“Uh.. Melony... how did you find out about Leon and I?”

“At least, not until you told me and he reacted like I knew something I shouldn’t. I mentioned you hoping I could get it out of him. I’m a mom, Lyra. Tricks like these are hard-coded. I suppose you’ll learn when you’re older, won’t you?”

Did that mean..? No, he couldn’t have been in on blowing her argument with Gordie out of proportion, right?

Her hand uncharacteristically balled into a fist. Her normally gentle demeanor was replaced with one far angrier and rather unbecoming of her image. Letting out a sigh though her nose, Melony calmed herself. Being mad was not the way to go about this.

The woman’s hand reached for her phone, where she then opened a message:

[TXT: Gordie] Have you seen the news? They say that Leon was helping Rose the entire time. That he was potentially responsible for what happened. I know you wanted his position, but don’t be afraid to ask for help if you need it, Gordie.

Fingers frozen on the send button, and eyes fixed on the screen, Melony’s emotions were a mixture of all corners at the moment. Her concern for her son was the top priority, and yet...

DELETE MESSAGE? Y/N

In a frustrated huff, she set her phone back down. Perhaps it was better to wait out the situation. After all, Gordie most certainly preferred not to be bothered by her. Even if in Melony’s mind this involved them both, she couldn’t bring herself to make him upset.

Melony is a canon character and as such I decided that her about page should be dedicated to what we DO know about her. Everything else is left to headcanons or speculation, and that’s why I have a headcanons tag, so that everything can be seen in one spot. And for the record, saying “you can make them posts, I’m fine with that” sounds like I need to ask permission. I don’t know if you’re the person I talked to this morning using a different computer or something, but if you think I care what some stranger who talks down to others thinks, you’re dead wrong.

What's the process to becoming a gym trainer? Is it a lot of paperwork? Or just a battle with you and you see if they're worth training/helping out gym challengers? And does it pay well?

“Typically, I look for my Gym Trainers to have a specific amount of dedication towards Pokémon Battles. If they can handle me in a battle, they then must prove they are willing to listen to my coaching and learn from it. After I have invited them and they have accepted, then the paperwork must be correctly filed with the Pokémon League, so that no people with a history of abuse towards Pokémon are allowed to be employed. It pays fairly well, many Gym Trainers are able to afford proper housing for themselves depending on their own personal situations.”

“Truthfully, it comes down to one lesson overall— Move well, learn well, play well, eat well, and rest well. We do not learn to battle in order to pick fights or to obtain meager praise. As Gym Trainers and a part of the Pokémon League, we must master the art of peace in addition to the art of war. We achieve victory through the art of war, victory is won through strategy, strategy is derived from the art of peace. However, if somebody threatens Galar or any other good innocent people with unethical tactics, it is our duty to defend! It is also our duty to teach the next generation the lessons we learn.”

She believes that family is more important than most things, and I understand why. My fight with Gordie probably affected Honnie most of all, sadly. Since she is the second oldest, most of his former responsibility fell to her.”

“I am sure with time, she will learn to pace herself and make more friends. The kids all get their stubbornness from their mama,” a small smile creeps up on her face under her scarf, “All I can do is guide them, it’s up to them to make their own choices, including how many friends they wish to have.”

“The eldest next to Gordie, that’s my daughter Honnie. She’s about twelve years old, and I’m often told she’s the spitting image of myself at around that age. Then I have three triplet boys, Cantie, Crennie, and Milton, but we call him Militie as a little pet name. The boys’re about three years old.”

“My husband and I didn’t want any more kids, but sometimes you get blessed with them anyway. I am very grateful I have these five wonderful children in my life, and I couldn’t be prouder of all of them. Gordie and his half-siblings get along about as best as half-siblings can, I suppose. Having two so much older than the youngest three helps a lot.”
