Brilliant work from the Women's Budget Group
Brilliant work from the Women’s Budget Group
If any of you follow the Women’s Budget Group, you will have seen a huge growth in the amount of analysis that they are putting out. The general election and Brexit have been busy times with lots of new potential policies being proposed and therefore a lot of analysis needed.
The Women’s Budget Group has also grown in size with new staff and dedicated communications capacitywhich – as Chair…

Intersectional Policy Making with the Welsh Government
Intersectional Policy Making with the Welsh Government
In May, I was invited to work with Dr Alison Parken from Cardiff University as well as Welsh women’s rights organisation Chwarae Teg on a project aiming to change the way the Welsh Government makes policy.
In 2019 the Welsh Government reviewed its equality strategies from all angles. It was a thorough review and Chwarae Teg led the gender equality process. You can read a report about the…

Intersectional economics @ Restore Oxford
Intersectional economics @ Restore Oxford
Delighted to be back working for Stir to Action as part of their New Economy Programme running a workshop on intersectional economics, this time in Oxford.
The process of developing and running these workshops has been such a journey for me. As a life long gender equality advocate, I have been slow to take a truly intersectional lens to my change making. But it is increasingly clear that it…

Campaign Communications Workshop at the LSE Institute of Inequalities
Campaign Communications Workshop at the LSE Institute of Inequalities
I was back at the London School of Economics this year, this time in the Institute for Inequality to work with this year’s cohort of the Atlantic Fellows.
If you don’t know this programme already then you should. It’s brilliant. It brings social sector ‘leaders’ (I personally find this work uncomfortable, even after doing the Clore Social Leadership programme, but there you go!) from…

Dear E,
Thanks for your reply.
As a company dedicated to diversity and inclusion, you will understand that asking for people to work for free in exchange for “exposure” is exploitation. By failing to set aside a budget for this project, you are perpetuating the inequality that the only people who can take part in this project are people who can afford to or those who are desperate.
As…

Intersectional Economics - Workshop for Stir to Action
Intersectional Economics – Workshop for Stir to Action
I am delighted to be part of Stir to Action’s New Economy Programme.
A year ago they asked me to deliver a workshop on intersectional economics but I didn’t really think about it until a few weeks before, but since then I have been on quite an intellectual journey.
We had a great day looking out over East London, examining what is intersectionality – using the legal rockstar Kimberle…

Listening to the @CheerfulPodcast where loads of men and @Samsmethers talk about paternity leave, male job shares and all sorts. One of my favourite episodes yet, really thoughtful.
