I would like to introduce the nuance that not everything has to be publicly owned and that some things can reasonably be privatized. Do you want the public sector to own your local family restaurants? The farms where food is grown? The very social media sites you frequent?
If your immediate reaction is yes, that’s fine. But I think these things make more sense to privatize than, say, a railway system that realistically may not have much actual competition.

And it isn't just a mean prediction, it isn't just basing someone's worh on how they could contribute to the economy. It's a also a threat.
I imagine I could actually have a job if there was better public transportation in my city, or if it were more walk-able.
If every place I would otherwise be equipped to work at had an evening shift, then I could work there without the issue of having to put myself in pain from getting up too early. (Not autism, but delayed sleep phase.)
If certain jobs paid a living wage, then I'd actually be able to work them without worrying about losing my benefits for insufficient wages.
If it were easier to start a business, then I could not just contribute to the economy, but actually do stuff that would be guaranteed to make me happy while being my own boss and thus avoiding the inevitable ableism of colleagues more than if I worked for someone else.
And much, much more.
Ableism isn't just devaluing lives themselves for not being able to work, it's actively preventing people from being able to work who otherwise would too.
Autism doesn’t need a cure. Capitalism does.

if i was evil and wanted to destroy rural America i would gut the USDA, gut medicaid to bankrupt rural hospitals, revoke all sorts of federally-funded grants, destroy our relationships with the countries we export pork and soybeans to, and accelerate climate change to make crop failures more frequent and more devastating. that's... essentially what Trump is doing.
Gods, this is so true!!!
It makes sense though, doesn't it? Trump needs to create problems he can blame on minorities and Democrats. When people lose jobs, he can blame it on immigrants stealing them. When hospitals go under, he can blame it on Obamcare. When the prices of goods go up from tariffs, he can blame it on other countries and use it as justification for his discussed-annexations of those countries.
Third world countries love their dictators. The best way to make Americans go along with dictatorship is turning America into a third world country.
