we as the player never meeting stanislaw is such a good move, because then we only get to see wiktor's side of the story. wiktor, who dreams of his father antagonizing and insulting him, who hates his father for exiling him, to the point of asking his sister to not tell their father a single word of what's happening to him when stanislaw is a skillful thaumaturge that could probably help him. and the thing is that, the more you see of wiktor's memories, the more you understand why stanislaw would send his son away and how unreliable wiktor's narration is. stanislaw haunting the narrative is the cherry on top

Wiktor Szulski is such a fascinating man... When he was young he thought he would've married a man just like his sister supposed to and he didn't want that, he's probably a monsterfucker, when women openly flirts with him he just brushes it off, he doesn't bat an eye when he comes across men and women having "close friends" of the same gender and/or he finds out about wlw and mlm relationships during his researches, he supports women rights, he tiptoes between sarcasm and flirtatious when he talks with some men, he doesn't say anything when men make compliments to him for his good look. anyway i love him and want to study him like a bug

I like to think that Ligia and Abaurycy kept meeting sometimes thru those 15 years when Wiktor was away, probably on accident but they were always using that time to smoke together, talk a little about something only they could understand and feel a little less lonely in general.
