S7 Vol 3 BD-DVD has a drama CD in it.

Title: "Playing under the stars" (or better translated into "Concert under the stars") Story: Natsume, Nishimura, and Kitamoto are practicing magic trick for the charity sale held by Tanuma's father at the temple. Tanuma went to the music room to practice the piano for the charity sale, but someone was already there...?" CV has a little youkai and Hoshinokanade(星の奏?)

Lala on 24 March 2025 also has a drama CD. (Only for physical books) Title:よのづよのみかん (Yonozuyo no mikan) I don't know what this means, but based on the mirror story last time, it might be something like "the orange that makes wishes come true"

Natsume Yuujinchou chapters NOT yet adapted

Natsume Yuujinchou S7 ended airing on TV Dec 23, 2024.

12 episodes aired on TV (my post for S7 EP list cf to manga). Vol5 Blu-ray/DVD comes out Apr 14, 2025. Ep13 (OVA?) is listed being on this disc. OVA or? Original content (AO) or will use manga based material? Wait and see. . . In meantime (so far):

The anime has always changed (and re-arrange and omit) many things cf to the manga version ... BUT is one of the reasons why get to enjoy BOTH versions

Natsuyuu Anime S7EP9 VS Manga Vol23 Ch.92-93

Anime only included Ch.92 and the first bit of Ch.93

Deleted the inner dialogue of "Touko-san is chatting on the phone..." (As usual, I will not repeat the deleted inner dialogue that can be clearly seen from the anime)

The exchange between Natsume and Sensei before they went to find Natori was deleted (but Sensei was always yelling "loquat, loquat, loquat" in the first half of the anime)

The order of Natori's explanation of his relationship with Yorishima was different from that in manga, and a scene where Natori didn't know how to deal with Touko was added.

Anime added Natsume and Sensei looking at the loquats and saying they were very big and many.

Anime completely deleted Hiiragi's appearance here.

In manga he said "そろそろ...(It's about time..)" and in anime Natori said "待たせたな(Sorry to keep you waiting)"

Anime deleted Hiiragi saying it was a good cloth, and Natsume asked Natori if it would be better to return it.

Anime deleted Natsume saying that he seemed to have seen someone there.

Deleted Natori expressing his thoughts and also instructing his shiki to inspect the house.

The "おや" in manga was changed to "これはこれは" in anime.

Deleted Matoba said "...well, that's fine"

The explanation of Mihashira-sama of the Miharu family was simplified. Mihashira-sama promised they would come here nine times, and now it was the eighth time.

Deleted Matoba complaining about Natori's interruptions (he mainly wanted to use these words to get Natori to help)

Added Natori saying "But..."

Deleted scene explaining the possible consequences of facing failure and needing an exorcism.

Hiiragi's quarrel with Sensei in front of Yorishima's house was deleted, and amine added it back here.

Deleted Matoba and Natsuma glared at each other after Matoba saying "but few of them are usful"

Dialogue here was simplified in anime.

Manga used あやかし (妖), and anime used ようかい (妖怪). In Japanese, あやかし can also refer to some kinds of weirdness including Youkai. 妖怪 is just Youkai (demon if translated), and かいい(怪異) generally refers to phenomena caused by strange events. These words are sometimes used interchangeably, but sometimes there are subtle differences.

Manga: There seems to be something inside. Anime: There seems to be someone inside.

Added Hiiragi saying that this house was decorated with a lot of jutsu and it's hard to feel the aura. In manga Natsume said "助かるよ(thanks for the help)", and in anime he said "頼む(I'll leave it to you)"

Before leaving, Hiiragi didn't forget to call Sensei "Nekodaruma"

In manga, there were some pendulum clock sounds that remind them them that it is almost time (those sounds startled Natsume and Sensei). And in anime, only Matoba said it was almost time.

In manga, Matoba first explained how his clan had many enemies before getting to Mihashira. In anime, he first explained how Mihashira came to visit before explaining his clan's affairs.

Deleted Natsume thought about this family and his own family (with the Fujiwara and Sensei)

In Manga Natori said "Don't be crazy! If anyone is out there -" In anime, he simple said "Don't be crazy!" (or "That's reckless!")

Anime added a scene where Hiiragi turned her head when Natsume chased the one-eyed Youkai.

So very happy new season of Natsume anime finally have to watch!! Quick list (will edit as S7 goes on) of Natsume's Book of Friends Season 7 episodes (no summaries of the storylines, just a list) mapping the episodes to the manga chapter(s) covered in each episode.

Ep 1 = Chapter 84 (Volume 21 of manga): 破片は愁う= Haheh wa Ureu = The Fragment's Lament (Oct 7: CR's title translation)

Ep 2 = Chapter 81 (Volume 20 of manga): いつかの庭 = Itsuka no Niwa = Someday's Garden (Oct 7 CR's title translation (also what Google gave too))

Ep 3 = Chapter 80 (Volume 20 of manga): とおかんや = Tookanya (From JDIC = Harvest Festival held on the night of the tenth day of the tenth month)

= First instance of Yorishima (Natori knows, used to be an exorcist) in the anime

Ep 4 = Chapter 83 (Volume 21 of manga): 頁の奥 = Peeji no Oku = Depths of the Page (CR's title translation)

Ep 5 = Chapter 108 (Volume 27 of manga):  ちょびの宝物 = Chobi no Takaramono = Chobi's Treasured Item

1st appearance in the anime of Taki's (older) brother, Isamu. Sounds like (from Preview) Fukuyama Jun is voicing him. :) ***Yes, he is (Nov 18)

Ep 8 = Chapter 87 (Volume 22 of manga):  月夜の夏目 = Tsukiyo no Natsume = Natsume on the Moonliit Night

Ep 9 = Chapter 92-94 (Volume 23 of manga):  儀式を阻む者 = Gishiki wo Habamu Mono = Disrupter of the Ceremony

2 parter has to be. Natsume and Nyanko-sensei meet up with Natori for loquat picking at Yorishima's old estate which leads to unplanned involvement with Matoba (clan) next door at Miharu estate who are continuing a youkai welcoming ceremony whereby an unknown yokai wants to prevent from happening because...

Ep 10 = Part 2: 約束の残る家 = Yakusoku no Nokori Ie = House Where A Promise Remains

Ep 11 = Chapter 88-89 (Volume 22 of manga):  名前を教えて = Namae wo Oshiete = Tell Me Your Name

Reiko story

ED sequence NOT usual one: Reiko's dream that Natsume got to see (via the ayakashi), endless field full of blue flowers ... Natsume talking with Nyanko-sensei while credits continue

Ep 12 = Chapter 99 (Volume 24 of manga): 夢路より = Yumeji yori = Out of the Realm of Dreams

Ep preview shows the Dog Circle gang visiting Natsume, Natsume's school friends, and the Fujiwaras, none of which are in Ch99 so AO material presume as Ch99 is a shorter one Ep 13 = Dec 23, 2024: Official Natsume X (Twitter) account post states Ep12 is final of S7 airing on TV. So Ep13 (listed on Vol5 Blu-ray/DVD) is a disc only episode.

***Apr 26, 2025: Midorikawa tweet mentions Ep13 as 伸ばした手は = Nobashita Te wa = The Outstretched Hand (official English Vol 21 has title as A Hand Extended) which is the adaptation of Special 17 in Volume 21 which is another look (story) from Natori in high school, which includes Matoba (and Takuma and Nanase and how Natori meets Urihime).

Natsume Yuujinchou S7 Ep1 reveal

Natsume's Book of Friends Season 7 (Natsume Yuujinchou Shichi) starts Oct 7 in Japan (Crunchyroll will have it). Official Natsume anime Twitter (X) account posted (Sept 22) with Episode 1 (more than enough manga to do 2 cours easily -- really really hope get more than 10-13 eps) title and 4 screenshots from the episode and link to (Official JP Natsume S7 anime website) page with synopsis 破片は愁う= Haheh wa Ureu = The Fragments are Worried (?) (Oct 7: CR's has the title as The Fragment's Lament) Ep1 = Chapter 84 (Volume 21 of manga) Ashes with mysterious powers Natsume receives from an ayakashi that he returned its name to. Natsume and Nyanko-sensei mix ashes with clay and make items from it. Natsume made a mini Nyanko-sensei which "comes to life" (can't speak) and vanishes so then Natsume/Nyanko-sensei search for it and. . .

S6 was in 2017 … 2 movies in between but still… S7 finally!! Too much to hope for 2 cours (so up to 24-26 episodes instead of 11-13) sadly I suppose even though there's more than enough manga chapters to cover (and still have material left over). *SIGH*

By end of S6 and Movie in 2021 (Movie in 2018 was AO) covered Chapters 82, 97-98 chapters in the manga NOT covered in anime version were: 71 (Manga 18), 77 (Manga 19) Special Episodes #8 (M8), #14 (M16) Vol 20: 80-81 Vol 21: 83-84, Special #17 Vol 22: 85-89, Special #18 and 19 And 90-92 (not published in book form yet)

July 2024 latest chapter was 130. Vol 31 just came out Sept 5 in Japan (124-127(?) has, my copy not arrived yet ***Sept 19: Yes, 124-127)

From the PV and refreshing myself with Volumes 20-27 Chapters to be covered for sure include (as with previous seasons, strict chapter order not followed it seems):

Natori's "mentor" (arm in sling), Yorishima, first instance of which is also in story with scarecrows jumping along road = 80 (Vol21) Kitamoto centric story = 83 (Vol 21) Miny Nyanko = 84 (Vol21) Matoba at the bus stop = Sp19 (Vol22) A Reiko story = 88-89 (Vol22) Taki's brother (1st time) story = 95-96 (Vol24) Ayakashi with moustache focussed = 108 (Vol27) And?? A few scenes I couldn't readily match up to a given chapter.

Some multi-chapter stories involving Natsume, Matoba and Natori was hoping at least one of them will be in S7 (no sign of from the one PV got so far). . .

Your tags about Jack being annoying and Jacob wondering why Sam loves him reminds me of back in the day when Pete finally met Jacob and tried to call him dad and Jacob was like "not gonna happen" but Jack still got away with it. Good stuff.

Art and outifts match: Free! 10th Anniversary Event

Only dawned on me today (Aug 22), most of the seiyuu at the Free! 10th Anniversary event (Aug 12-13) for their casual clothes outfits were wearing close to nearly identical to damn close to identical outfits as the 10th anniversary official group shot art (with background (or whole thing??) done by YORKE (Oldcodex))... I took a screenshot of the official art back Apr 27, 2023. Event been in the making longer than that.

Zakki (Haru), Miyano (Rin), Daisuke (Rei), Tsubasa (Nagisa), Toyonaga Toshiyuki (Asashi), Miyata Kouki (Nitori),  Hino Satoshi (Nao) match up the closest. 

Tattsu (his jacket not so green and shoes don't have the white). Shades of colour off, but otherwise pretty spot on for Uchiyama (Ikuya). Suzumura's (Momotaro) not an exact match.

Hosoya wasn't there nor Ryohei (Hiyori) or Chihiro Suzuki (Kisumi) or Ono Daisuke (Kaede).

Can't be a fluke ... outfits were made to match the art, OR the seiyuu tried to match them themselves? Former than later would think as some of the clothes, like Rin's pants, would not be something could easily find in a store. . .
