The yarn pile shrinks, realized I barely ever use a knitting loom so I grabbed a random pile of spaghetti and started making. Now I have a small pouch :D

Learning lace making!

Been busy with school lately so haven't been crafting much. Still am, so I'm not sure how I convinced myself that the best use of time was to learn a new skill. Regardless, ain't got time yet to look at tutorials and am very much learning lace making off of vibes and only vibes.

Sushi
Found a way to make a dent in the yarn pile, but that also meant using wildly different yarns. Theres 2 different reds, the green I unwinded and rewinded it to thin it, the white feels like genuine rice, and the black's the thinnest yarn compared to the rest of them. Only 75% sure it's all acrylic, thrifting be a gamble.
I gotta block it at some point and make all the edges neat. For now, I am done. Made this as a gift for someone close to me, so the blocking I can do whenever. Simply can't wait for them to see it.
Oh, almost forgot to say something about the yellow! It's normal.
Also, anyone know who first made a sushi scarf? I just went off random photos online, but I'd like to thank them for existing as this project was very fun to make.

Test fitting the leaves, was a real shot in the dark if I'd be able to even get them on there. I was worried they'd look a bit wonky too, but after draping it over my standing fan I think it looks nice. Glad I kept with it, cause now I'm inspired to add a few more things to the embroidery I was planning to do. Really can't wait to finish this, beyond excited!
Side note: forever not looking forward to weaving all the ends in but it's gotta be done ;-;

Didnt have enough light green yarn for the leaves so i frogged it. Found this fluffy green yarn and mixed it in. I wonder if i have another green somewhere to mix in? That'd be fun! A lot of work, but fun!

Making some leaves to put on the hems of the shawl

The tutorial i found ended up being great for this. Simple enough once you understand it and it makes an entire leafy vine. Will say though, i am 98% sure i missed a step somewhere, but im too far deep to do something about it.
This is the tutorial I used by Elena Rugal,

Worked on the shawl for a bit, wanted to see if the thing I wanted to do would work, happy to say it does. Now there's a flower growing out of it.
Once I'm done with the main part of the shawl I'll go back and add more, but this is about what I plan to do there. I think I'll add some single crochet rows to the bottom as well, maybe some flowers growing from the hem? I think that'll look nice.

Sometimes when you're feeling down, and you have some pink chunky yarn of any kind, making a pig plush is a decent time.
98% sure this is mainstays cherry blossom sparkle chenille super bulky yarn, but i'm not 100% since it was thrifted. Bought yarn like this before from walmart so big assuming.

Yarnspirations having so many free patterns has been a godsend in learning crochet for me.

Now I have a slightly fancier dishcloth :D
Used their shell stitch dishcloth pattern, added one extra line of 1 sc 5 dc repeating for the end to square it off, can't wait to clean with it!
The yarn pile shrinks little by little.

Was working on double and treble crochets and realized there's not really a limit on how big those stitches can get besides the size of your hook. Now I have a little cage thing.

Got a slinky in there to demonstrate the cage abilities, now my slinky's just in jail... I'll break em out in a bit.

Slowly weaving little by little, getting better each day I toss the thread around. Gonna keep practicing until I get to the end, then decide if there's any fancy project I wanna make.

As much as it pains me whenever I realize I need to take stitches out, I still enjoy it. It makes such a lovely sound, like a soft little pop with every stitch.
