The Primaries

Exploration of the female form. Color theory serves as a practical guidance to color mixing and color combination. By studying specifically the primary colors, artists Stefen Pompée and Julissa Rodriguez, who were both raised in the Bronx, want to explore the three main components that affect everyday stimuli. They have done so by creating a juxtaposition of linear and organic which is expressed on the female body. Their canvases consist of an array of models which display the possibilities of the female human body and the capabilities of form. The primaries also serve as a starting point, it is where all colors derive from. The same can be said of women. They are the creators, the givers of life.
