as a little author's note, i had this general idea that i was gonna use for a different event set a few months ago but life got in the way and i wasn't able to complete it in time, but then this post by @bambibuck inspired me to rework it slightly and finish it!

Chris's new caretaker, Carla, had him for the evening, and the plan had been for them to go to the movies and then be waiting for Eddie at home. But when the elevator doors open, she's right there in the hallway, with no sign of Christopher. Eddie goes from relaxed and joking to stiff as a board like someone flipped a switch.

"Is he--" is all Eddie gets out before she's holding up her hands.

"He's fine. He just wanted to wait out here with Maddie."

It's Buck's turn to tense, his heartbeat going into overdrive as he looks over Carla's head and down the hall. They're sitting on the floor next to Buck's door, Chris small and a little shy, looking at the floor, Maddie watching him with a smile Buck recognizes from when he was Chris's age.

"Your sister, right?" Eddie asks.

"Yeah."

"You weren't expecting her."

He shakes his head, not sure what to say. He hasn't seen her for so long. He hasn't known how to help her. But here she is. She finally came.

Eddie pushes the small of his back, just hard enough to get Buck's feet working, and he stumbles only a little as he starts walking towards them.

Maddie sees him first, but he just smiles at her before crouching down to greet Chris. "Hey, bud. Were you taking care of my sister?"

As I gaze at the structural column in Copley Station, cracked nearly in two and held together with zip ties that have been carefully painted over to match the column underneath, I feel my soul intertwined with that of a small Italian boy of days gone by, who also stopped to look up at a large, groaning, newly painted tank full of molasses

I recently started watching Dungeon Meshi and somehow came up with this crossover and I just had to draw it haha

Kind of hilarious to me how poorly the title "Mob Psycho 100" localized to English-speaking areas. To someone whose first language is English, it scans as:

Mob (Yakuza, Mafia)

Psycho (violent person with "crazy" behaviors)

Thus: a particularly violent member of organized crime.

But in Japanese it scans as:

Mob (background characters in crowd scenes in manga or anime)

Psycho (short for psychic)

Thus: a psychic who looks/acts like someone you'd never pick out of a crowd scene in a comic.

Out of curiosity and also guilt over my own coffee intake. I wanna ask:

Now I'm not talking about when you're studying and so you drink 3x the usual amount or something like that. This isn't me asking what your record is. I'm talking about the most basic, average day, how many coffees you drink?

to you, it’s a shitty sentence. to some random bitch 500 miles away, it’s a fire line that’ll haunt them for the next 17 years.

you don’t know how impactful your writing is because it’s been in your brain for far too long now. you’ve stared at it for hours and repeated “this sucks” over and over again to the point that you killed your capacity to feel anything about your work.

but trust me, once you get your shit out there, someone’s gonna go over that paragraph you hate and go “jesus fucking christ” and put the book down to have an existential crisis.
