Take of the day: on opinions about disarment, I trust people who had experience with war more than unbombed folks.
What makes me not believe in absolute pacifism. It is easy to sit down drinking cappuccino/IPA/dubai labubu matcha with working electricity and no air raid alarm, and talk about all those high culture concepts of no borders and no weapons, in the center of empire. Secret is, when you are actively invaded every so often, you cannot afford giving up your means of self defense.
Great example of it is Budapest Memorandum. Before, Ukraine had the third biggest nuclear potential in the world. President Kuchma gave them up for a promise that the land will stay untouched, and borders will stay protected.
In 2014, russia invaded in Ukraine. In 2022, russia did it officially. We remember Volnovakha, Bucha, Mariupol, Bahmut, Irpin. Spiderweb helped to take down multiple bomb airplanes, reducing russia’s means of shelling civilians. If Ukraine had not had any military, there would not be Ukraine anymore.
If you live at heart of empire, it is arrogant to expect invaded countries give up their weapons. If you want demilitarization, make empires do it first.

I never want to hear the phrase “collective liberation” from people who think the Israeli/Jewish hostages should have just been left to rot in literal captivity, ever again.

I already regret making this post, but I think this needs to be a real discussion.
** Please note: I 100% do NOT want goyische opinions on this post. I am not interested, they are not helpful, and I will block you without hesitation even if we've been mutuals forever **
I think we have reached the level of Holocaust inversion on the left that we actually need to recalibrate the entire way we engage with an alarming amount of leftist goyim, because they have decided that their twisted understanding of Zionism as a form of 'apartheid genocidal ethnonationalist fascism' is on the same level as the Nazis.
Now regardless of how that makes you, as a Jew feel, that is how a lot of them are viewing this, period.
That means that you should assume that every single "we punch Nazis, not debate them" anti-fascist principle out there can be applied in full force to Zionists [with the understanding that their definition of Zionist usually means every Jew they don't like or agree with or who doesn't perform their brand of politics to the level they are asking]
Remember that video of an actual, real elderly Nazi that just croaks in the middle of his hateful yelling that went viral? Remember how happy people were when Richard Spencer got punched? Remember the whole "the only good Nazi is a dead Nazi" slogan? That whole idea that you cannot debate white supremacists and fascists because that inherently means debating your humanity and makes their position seem valid enough to debate?
Yeah. For these people, all of that applies to Zionists [and whoever they decide to label as such]
So yeah, an older guy protesting got killed? Same reaction as yelling Nazi dude above. Shrug.
A brutal massacre of Israelis and their neighbors that wiped out 1400 men, women and children? Imagine that some group managed to do that to 1400 Nazi families. We might find the sadistic nature of the deaths distasteful, but really: how many tears are you shedding?
Civilian population centers of primarily Jews are under constant missile shelling and bomb threats? Imagine that we were talking about Nazi Germany instead. Sucks for them I guess, right? 🤷‍♀️
Their reactions to recent events ranging from silent apathy to outright glee all make sense once you play a Mad Libs game of filling in "Zionist" or "Israeli" in place of "Nazi" or "fascist" in every "punch Nazis!!!1!" slogan.
The fact that Jews are and have been frequently the targets of these fascist groups throughout history and were the primary targets of the Nazis is irrelevant. The fact that we are human people who just want to practice our ancient religion and culture in peace is irrelevant. The bottom line is that the far goyische left has now figured out a way to fully de-person Jews in a social justice approved way, without even the ability to point out how utterly unhinged and counterfactual that take is because "we don't debate Nazis."
I don't know how to fix this.
Genuinely, I don't.
It's like the spirits of their pogrom-loving ancestors have gripped them and instead of whispering "the Jews killed Jesus, poison wells, and thirst for the blood of children," they just substitute out Jesus for Palestine.

Sat down to do work this morning, instead ended up writing an essay to the editors at the Southern Poverty Law Center about this year's Yom HaShoah article, which somehow manages to barely mention the Holocaust:
To be clear, I have no problem with highlighting the experience of queer people in Nazi Germany. I'm queer! But this persecution wasn't the Holocaust, so choosing to discuss it while *not* discussing the, you know, *actual Holocaust* and *say you're doing it as observance of Yom HaShoah* is wild.
This article would have been perfectly fine on its own. But not as the sole acknowledgement of Yom HaShoah.
So, I told them that. And since they always connect their historical articles to modern events, I mentioned that failing to center the Holocaust meant they missed a good opportunity to discuss the rise of open antisemitism.
I did not ask if that antisemitism, particularly on the left, is why they failed to center the suffering of Holocaust victims on Holocaust Remembrance Day.
But you have to wonder.

I was sharing this post about Israel's withdrawl from Gaza twenty years ago
https://www.reddit.com/r/Israel/s/OW9u72JR3O
Someone commented to me: if you leave a room and lock the door behind you is it surprising that those inside try to break down the door
they're leaving out the part where the people behind the door were given the chance to leave it unlocked and they proceeded to elect a terrorist organization as their government.
in my opinion, it's not unreasonable to lock the door when the people behind it keep declaring they want to kill you, and it's a double standard to only care about one door and not put any pressure on the other one to open.

The thing that I’ve noticed about leftist antisemites is that they will spout the same ridiculous bullshit conspiracy theories that right wing antisemites do, like ZOG, but wrap it up in thinly veiled woke language. And when an actual Jewish person (or anyone who’s educated on antisemitism) comes along and calls them out on it, they will get so furious, like a sense of entitlement. It’s almost like “how DARE you call ME, a leftist, an antisemite?! Don’t you know that leftists by definition are righteous saviors of the oppressed?!” It’s especially insidious because they will be repackaging the Protocols and insist that they aren’t antisemitic, just “criticizing Israel.” At least right wing antisemites will tell us up front that they want us all dead. Leftists spout the same exact shit but disguise it as social justice.

Jews, called by themselves “Am Israel”, found Jerusalem.
Jews call Jerusalem Zion”.
Jews are ethnically cleansed from Jerusalem (Zion).
Jews return to Jerusalem (Zion) to reclaim it.
People who conquered Jerusalem (Zion) do not like the Jews returning to reclaim it. They try to kill the Jews for returning.
Jews are ethnically cleansed from Jerusalem (Zion) again.
Jews return to Jerusalem (Zion) to reclaim it again.
People who conquered Jerusalem (Zion) do not like the Jews returning to reclaim it again. They try to kill the Jews for returning again.
Yet again, Jews are ethnically cleansed from Jerusalem (Zion).
Yet again, Jews return to Jerusalem (Zion) to reclaim it.
This has happened so many times Jews finally get around to naming it. Jews call this return to Jerusalem (Zion) “Zionism”.
People who conquered Jerusalem (Zion) do not like the Jews returning to reclaim it yet again. Yet again, they try to kill the Jews for returning.

“never let them convince you broken glass or property damage is violence”
the pogrom that kickstarted the Holocaust is literally named after the broken glass from the destruction of Jewish businesses, synagogues, and homes
even outside of literal pogroms, smashing windows & defacing people’s property during a protest or riot comes with an implicit threat of violence in the same way that someone punching a hole in the wall or smashing a chair in the middle of an argument does.
it may be less violent than if they physically hit your body, but it is still threatening, and is often a precursor to more extreme actions that do cause physical harm.

a) there’s not mainstream criticism of the Talmud like there is with the Christian Bible or Quran because the Talmud isn’t mainstream like those books are.
Christians are 32% of the world population, Muslims are 26%, and Jews are only 0.2%—not all of whom are even religious, and even fewer who have actually read the Talmud in its entirety.
“how many white people follow that religion” my ass. ain’t even that many of us period.
b) bro the talmud is like 2.5 million words long and looks like this
Tumblr media
who tf is going out of their way to put themselves through reading a super niche, dense, 2.5 million wordcount legal text that’s formatted like the ancient precursor to House of Leaves just to criticize a teeny tiny little religious minority??
anybody who hates Jews that much isn’t going to take that much time out of their schedule to read what actual Jews have to say about Judaism when they could just make up some salacious shit & repost Nazi memes instead

I ask despairingly: what the hell is going on with western media?! why tf are they writing tragic puff pieces about members of a terrorist organization that has been responsible for countless attacks and deaths around the world for decades, and sharing photos of them with their deceased mass murderer hero Nasrallah enshrined in the background?
and then I remember that they gave an award to the AP “photographer” who either happily stood by or participated when a gang of brutal men were abusing Shani Louk’s body in the back of a pickup truck, before she had even been returned to her family for burial, and that is the tiniest shaving of ice from the tip of the iceberg that has been the journalistic malpractice for the past 22 months of horrors, and I realize I shouldn’t ask these questions anymore.
We are disgusted by the picture. We wonder what sort of award the AP photographers deserve for recording part of the aftermath of Hamas terror gone mad, the victimization and murder of an innocent concertgoer and the incomprehensible celebration of her death by a blood-thirsty crowd. And, we wonder, what were the AP photographers doing there?
The Louk picture is not photojournalism. The Louk picture is not war journalism. The Louk picture embraced by AP and the competition’s sponsors is nothing more than the celebration of terrorist activity and aggrandizement of Hamas.
they are giving more dignity to Hezbollah fighters than they have given to victims of a massacre, than they give to the hostages.
AJC ran an ad of Evyatar to get him into the NYT.
Tumblr media
this isn’t a coincidence or an irresponsible mistake - it’s a pattern.
