“Feeding strays isn’t so bad, they are so gentle... why don’t you join me?” She shook the bad of cat food just to make her point more obvious.

She does not need a special day to honour her father. Every breathing second of her new life turned into remembrance, constant mourning of a person she knew forever gone. She did not pour an ounce of hope in his return. Somehow, she could not wish for him to be brought back into such a despicable world where God had abandoned them...
Maybe the day she can feel hopeful again but for now, she can let herself cry for a little bit longer.

@shouyoku
It was an odd feeling to see herself starting a job.
This place was lovely. So pink, girly, the essence of a girl in love. And the owner was in no way behind this description. They matched so well, she couldn’t help but adore everything. Miki was always a little tomboyish so this was a totally new sight.
“You’re my boss, right? I’m Makimura Miki, your cashier. Thank you for taking me in.”

deviileye:
he’d sent two texts– two completely different invitations: one to ryo, plain and urgent, and one to miki, excited and eager. why couldn’t he just tell the others that one or the other was coming, that he wanted them all to just enjoy a simple meal together, even if the restaurant was notoriously not great?
but he knew they’d both come, they always would. maybe pissed that they had to all share one booth, but who knew? maybe things wouldn’t be so tense between them for once…?
so he sat there in the cheap linoleum booth of a fluorescent-lit diner, periodically checking his phone for the time as he waited for the others to arrive.
@porimes @luciferianisms @psychogenics
It was hardly possible to explain her excitement. His texts always managed to lift her spirits. Maybe her wish of having a regular life were coming along, though she knew that was a simple facade. Maybe, her new normal could be a world that was not burning constantly and that should suffice.
A meal without murder should be a good start! And the best place would be this odd restaurant, ready to be in presence of what could be the worst or best reunion.
“Have you been here for too long?” She immediately went to him, taking her seat on the front. Her peppy demeanour shining as usual. “So, what are we waiting for? Wanna order already?”

luciferianisms:
“That’s fine, I’d rather you hated me. I’m indifferent to you, but it would feel unfair to expect you to forgive me. I’m an existence that’s never been forgiven before anyway, I’d be uncomfortable with forgiveness.”
He did not want a human to decide whether or not he would be forgiven anyway. Even if he was no longer actively plotting to destroy them right at this moment, he still did not want to look at them. To look at the existence that god favored over him, that Akira favored over him.
It was his honest opinion, he was used to being hated so he preferred it. He stared then at the hand extended in front of him. He had one precious memory, when somebody reached a hand out to him when he was surrounded by darkness.
That was Akira’s hand. He wondered, if he could ever take a hand like that again. Ryo merely blinked, as if he didn’t understand. “What baton? You’re not holding anything.” He was just playing dumb though.
He was stubborn, just as stubborn as her. Though he would never acknowledge a human being equal to him in any way.
“I can’t hate you, I only don’t like you.” Pretending this to be but a childish grudge eased quite a bit her pain. Her feelings were a mess and she needed time to label them. Organise her thoughts and understand what she truly wanted from her involvement with Ryo. “When you care about being forgiven, then for sure I will consider forgiving you.”
She clasped her hands, determined. That was a decent beginning. Miki knew he did not spare much of a thought about her, so she did not have to worry about thinking a lot about him either. Worrying for Ryo was but a side effect of her concern for childhood friend. If their bond had those beginnings, then she can gladly let it unravel and tangle as needed.
“You’ll understand one day.” Or maybe he already did? That’s fine, she knew what should be done. “Anyway, don’t hurt Akira. I also love him a whole bunch. You see, I was called once Miki The Hands. So, thread carefully with me.”

farewell to the fairground
deafening screams rung in her head. anguish, anger, pain and sadness mixed in a turmoil of voices. all haunting her. following her. lacking in physical form but their presence was as real as her very own.
it begun not too long ago. her bright days turned dim. the sun she appreciated, suddenly became grim. dark skies reigned. not a single star or sign of the moon, granting the slightest glimpse of light. in this world where it was nigh impossible to believe in anything other than yourself, she clung on the faintest of hope.
the track field she ran on, started resembling the place where she died.
somehow she can feel how her body keeps moving. every bare step against the fresh grass. one, two, three. rinse and repeat. she wouldn’t stop. she knew deep in her heart that they would catch her up. no matter if she did not see them, or if they did not see her. it would all crumble the very same way before.
before she did not scream. merely saved her energy in running. in escaping from her assailants that so desperately needed to kill her. otherwise they would allow a wretched soul roam into this world, where demons had taken control. in this world where she was a witch.
a witch that deserved punishment.
punishment that would take shape in blades. fists. scratches. fire. and while she has yet to feel any of pain, she can tell that soon those hands will reach her and torture her till her las breathe. fingers that hover all over her frame, threatening to capture her in any second.
and the very instant they did ( because they would ), she would instead scream out for Akira. Fully knowing he would never come.

deviileye:
the comfort was appreciated, more than she could have known. akira clings to her tightly, sinking into her arms as though it were going to be the last time once again.
eventually they had taken refuge in the living room of his apartment, sitting close together on the couch as time dragged on, later and later. midnight fell eventually, and the moon was whole again, and the city was silent once more. the scare had been all for nothing, it seemed, but something about it all still had him uneasy.
“so now what?” he says, tucking his feet in close to his body as he stares at the newly mended moon. “things may be quiet now, but the fact that there’s someone– something strong enough to do it… i thought this place would be peaceful.”
his sentence trails off.
“i can’t even do anything about it.”
Once the moon is back to its original state, she can feel at ease. It’s not the same, so she can cling onto that. There’s hope. The night seems peaceful, despite how erratic the skies were before. Sleepiness hasn’t set it, and the darkness keeps engulfing the living room.
Doing everything within her capacities allowed her worries to go away. Though it did not mean they were entirely gone, while staying with him, she could keep a hold of a tiny bit of strength. The world out there could break but she couldn’t. Wasn’t it fine to fight for a world where they could live? Struggling as much possible, as it was their right to survive.
“You don’t have to!” She couldn’t allow him to suffer again. Deep down, she knew how it was impossible, though. Coercing Akira to not care about others was but a foolish idea.
“Maybe I was always a little more selfish than you.” Grasping the ends of her shirt, Miki would attempt to contain her own feelings. Right now, trying to touch him felt wrong. Any sort of physical reassurance would simply be impulsed by her own greediness. It wasn’t fair to him. His heart was way bigger than anyone’s else. “But, you know... whatever you decide, you should notice you’re not alone.”
“Isn’t it fine to rely on me this time, Akira? You can protect the world, so let me protect you instead.” Her shaky voice could be less than convincing but her determination was real.

deviileye:
the sound rung through the entire city- it was impossible to miss. akira looked up, just like everyone else, but while most panicked, akira stood still and shaken.
memories of another world and time, flooded back into his consciousness where he thought they had been pushed aside for good.
was it happening again?
there’s a name on his lips, and he desperately hopes it’s the wrong one.
Words are not needed when the plain truth laid upon their eyes.
She was equally scared, perhaps if he were not here, she would’ve broken in an instant. Keeping herself together is nigh impossible when the possibility of their world crumbling again. So she tries to hold the pieces desperately, both mentally and physically.
Miki would wrap her arms around him, hoping it can help him ease his worries.
